Could use a little redesign
The mount Is good and sturdy, but I had to make some mods to make it right. the lower mounting rail is shorter than the top so if it is centered it cannot be raised up as pictured without the top piece cutting into the roof. the remedy is to cut off a corner of the top bracket. Also the brace hols do not line up with the mounting holes so you can't lower it and secure both ends. the remedy is to drill a hole adjacent to the existing one or mill a slot that will match up to the mounting holes. The solar panel racks are okay. They do work fine but, over-priced for the product you get. For the money you pay, you are not getting much material. The basic design works fairly well however, I recommend using better nuts and bolts than the ones they supply for the rack attachments. The bolts and knobs for the racking itself is okay. Product is constructed well, but misses on implementation
The bracket is made so that it should 'swivel' up from either side depending on how one has parked with respect to the sun, and claims support for a solar panel up to 28". However, since the top brace is 28" and the bottom one is 22", a 28" panel, if positioned centered on the 22" bottom bracket, will dig into the surface of your RV roof and not tilt upwards but a couple of degrees..... certainly not what one has in mind when they buy an adjustable mount. To resolve this one either has to mount the panel "off-center" (in which case one can only tilt the panel in one direction) or cut off a piece of the 28" brace at an angle on both ends. Even then one probably can not achieve a good 'winter sun' elevation angle. I chose to mount it off-center so as to not have to cut off an angle on the ... Almost has it right
Very good mount. Only problem was that the wing nuts do not have enough room to tighten with the "L" bracket strut holding the panel up, vertical bracket should be straight. I'm using circular nuts to hold up. The reason I bought this bracket is it gives you a choice of how many degrees you want to go.
