Guess I'm use to the old d104 mics made out of metal and excellent quality. This mic , like every thing else now days, is all plastic Got good reports on it but scratches when keying up. Saw a youtube video on this , told about spraying inside keying switch with wd-40. I tried this, seemed to help. I would recommend it , but its not old school !

Horrible looks, excellent functionality.
It sounds great on the air. Has great sensitivity. But the manufacturing quality is not that great. I didn't have any problems with the PTT button as some have stated, but all the stickers were out of place. The bottom sticker overlapped the small gain control knob and i had to peel it off and replace it to make adjustments. Also the astatic logo sticker on the front was crooked. The battery bay door doesn't like to seat properly. Bottom line, it functions great, but it looks horrible and extremely cheap.It sounds great on the air. Has great sensitivity. Not what i thought
Astatic has been making desk Mic for over 50 years and I thought it would sound good but not so much. It's a good desk mic and works great but ptt switch is scratchy and mic has a high pitch tiny like audio. That's just not for me. Good luck

Works well on some radios
Needed to do more research on its compatibility with the radios I have. Works great on my Ranger X-9 but low audio no matter how its adjusted on my Lincoln 2. No reports on its audio of my Quad 6 as I haven't tested it since the 2nd 1 arrived.
