better than zinc
replaced a crappy zinc block on EVH Floyd Rose special (the cheapest FR). it weighs about 30g more, and gives a more enjoyable focused sound and a little increase in sustain and volume level when played without an amplifier. didn't play it loud so i cant comment any changes, but im shure they are there. I considered a bigger brass block but didnt want to aditionaly route the trem cavitiy to compensate for the limited upward/downward travel. flutter works better to. warble is still there, mosly noticed when hitting thr G string hard. I recommend this if you want a no-fuss replacement. Nice upgrade
I had room in my guitar's cavity, so I replaced a 32mm with this block. It also fixed a problem I was having with my Goeldo backbox not making good contact, which has helped my tuning stability and sustain. If you have room for a taller block in your guitar, why not take advantage of it? Also, I lost no range of motion (up or down) on my Floyd's travel, which is why I chose this item over the fatter brass blocks from Floyd Rose or FU Tone (which I also use on other guitars when I don't mind sacrificing a little travel). 37 mm floyd block
before you try the oversized fat brass blocks....try upping the standard size. for example i went from a 32 to a 37 on my jackson soloist. its just as much punch as the fat brass block and doesnt affect my floyd range/movement. i shoulda tried 37 first.
