Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill) clash over differing philosophies about what kind of heroism is needed to protect the world, while the public they're defending is becoming increasingly mindful of the damage that superheroes and masked vigilantes cause. However, the duo are soon forced to confront an even greater threat created by nefarious billionaire Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg). Directed by Zack Snyder, BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE also co-stars Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred the butler, and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. | |

The human side of Superman and Batman
Although the movie was darker than what I expected, I liked how the human sides of Superman and Batman were explored. At times I was a little depressed just because of the darkness of the movie and because of man's inhumanity to man, I thought that the approach to how mankind responded to Superman and his powers were more genuine in light of today's recent political climate and world events. I liked how the relationship between Batman and Superman changed once Clark Kent's mother's name was mentioned. As a small child, I remember watching along with my parents and siblings the funeral procession for John F. Kennedy. When watching the funeral procession for Superman in Washington D.C., I got a similar feeling of loss. Superman has always been my favorite super hero. It would be great to actually have someone like that who could help out and protect humanity.

Too much build-up & not enough action leads to a sub-par movie experience.
What more can be said about this film that hasn’t already been said? As a longtime fan of DC Comics, I am able to appreciate when a comic book movie has a darker, more serious tone to it, but this movie really took that to an extreme – and not in a good way. The whole tone of the movie is dark and dour from start to finish and it never really changes at any time. There are a few moments where the actors try to have moments of joy, love and humor to help balance out all the darkness, but sadly, these attempts don’t go over very well and are easy to miss if viewers aren’t paying close enough attention. The first 105 minutes are designed to build suspense and set up the final battle, but all of that only succeeds in boring the audience and making people lose interest in seeing the rest of the film. So many of the supporting characters who get lots of character development don’t survive past the film’s half-way point, which leads me to question why they got so much character development in the first place. For a movie that features both Batman and Superman, it’s Batman who is really the main focus of the film, instead of sharing equal screen-time with the Man of Steel. Finally, the fight between the two main characters only lasts for a whopping 8 minutes – much less than audience’s expectations and previous hype generated by the film-makers. While Ben Affleck does an extraordinary job portraying the Dark Knight and Gal Gadot’s portrayal of Wonder Woman offers just the right amount of magic and intrigue to make us thirsty for more of the Amazon Princess, it’s the lackluster performances given by many of the other actors and a convoluted plot that drags on and on without knowing when to stop and start making sense that drag this movie down.

Unfufilling!!!
This dvd seemed to be a standard def dvd (of old- 480 i) which had, what I think, very poor quality video. Supposedly this dvd was taken from the original package. Was bad to watch. I found the movie to be very dark in both viewing and content. I expected much more but was left confused and un-fulfilled in the experience. I will watch again to see if my experience improves and hopefully I won't fall asleep again. Right now, quite disappointed!

Okay
The movies was okay but not what I expected it to be. I thought it would have had more action between Batman and Superman throughout the movies. There were small actions, then for the about 30 minutes there were noting but talking. The end of the movies was the best part but could have extended a little longer with more actions with all three characters. Wonder Woman entering the action scene could have been closed to the TV series by turning in a circle with the bright light. Overall, the movies was okay. I'm a DC Comic and Marvel guy and purchased two copies to add to my collections.

No Way...Okay
I want to go 2-stars on this, but out of a sense of mercifulness and how much I love these characters: I'm goin' 3! No way should this film fail. Should never happen...but it did. In one word: Confused. Not: 'Confus-ing', but thoroughly & Intro/Exo-spectively "unsure". This is a movie that simply didn't know what it wanted to be. As such, a fantastic opportunity and marvelous characters were wasted. There was one single bright spot==the too brief mythology of Wonder Woman. A quickie flash of Aquaman and some others for future delectation...Maybe. Unfortunately there was not enough brightness to overcome the grime. These are comic book superheroes. So gritty *Realism* is kinda not required. Or wanted. One can but hope for a better result in a future outing.....less dreams, fantasies & hallucinations, please.
