This semi-automatic Breville espresso machine offers great technological details that help you create an espresso that is the ideal temperature, evenly extracting the fullness of coffee flavor. The Breville Infuser is a huge favorite of home baristas who want a good instant pull to start the day or want to custom refine their effort to create the perfect latte in the early evening. The Breville BES840XL Infuser can brew eight cups of delicious coffee from its reservoir. This versatile machine offers the option to brew one espresso or two espressos simultaneously, and the volume of each can be customized, if desired. The machine pressure can be carefully monitored with a handy gauge that shows you when you are pulling perfection. This Breville machine offers technological features enabling you to achieve a quality shot. Many an aficionado knows that steam temperature is perhaps the most important variable determining the quality of your cup of Joe. The PID temperature control system in the Breville is a precision feedback mechanism used in advanced industrial processes to quickly and precisely control temperature. You won’t find this advanced feature in many other machines out there. The second most important variable is the amount of pressure applied to the grounds in the machine. The “puck” of grounds is typically unevenly distributed despite the best tamping of a good barista. Breville solves this problem with a pre-infusion to evenly distribute the grounds before applying the full force of its 15 Bar Italian pump. For a perfect espresso shot extraction, Breville uses a powerful 1600-watt thermocoil to heat the water quickly to a precise temperature for great steam every time. The tamper sits conveniently in a dedicated location on the machine and is accompanied by a patented|

New and Improved Model
We owned a Breville prior to purchasing this one. The quality of the brand is why we returned. We used our first Breville for nearly 20 years. The water reservoir on the newer model appears to be smaller compared to the older product. We can use a finer coffee grind in the newer model compared to the older model. The newer model includes a replaceable charcoal water filter (good for 2 months) which does make the coffee taste better. The newer model also has a warming tray on the top to heat coffee cups but you can achieve the same or better effect by running the cup under hot water for a few minutes before adding the coffee.

It's a single-boiler system, so you can't steam milk and make espresso simultaneously. But that's a small price to pay for a machine that incorporates the pre-infusion concept to negate channeling and, in my opinion, makes coffee as good as that of consumer-grade tank machines that cost double the retail price. If you can catch a deal, all the better. One has to acquire a knack for making good espresso. Use high-quality coffee. If you grind your own beans, experiment with the "fine" section on your grinder. Get a feel for tamping pressure. Experiment with frothing. Watch a few videos. Once you "get it," you'll be pleased with the coffee the Infuser produces. My tastebuds are ordinary, but my wife is a super taster, and she says the straight shots of espresso, as well as the milk variations––cappuccino, etc––coming from the Infuser are the equal of coffees we get in caffés in Italy. That's high praise from a 400-500-dollar machine. It's also a handsome machine. Looks good in the kitchen. We have the all-stainless model.

lightweight and powerful
Compact and powerful machine. Easy to brew out espresso or regular coffee(could be program to brew more coffee in one press). Not easy to use the single mesh strainers(coffee brew out too fast without enough pressure), but could use the double mesh strainers to solve the problem. Steamer works not as fast as commercial machine, but it makes a lot of smooth foam. Once I turn on the steamer valve, the steam won't stop, not like some other cheap machines, steam only spray for a minute or less.

10/10 coffee taste....happy with our choice...As long as you clean and riinse the machine as instructed...Not difficult at all.
The Two cup (dual wall) coffee dispenser that came with this machine, does not work! It does not reach the pressure range.....So I have had to order another 2 cup wall.
