Playing SNES games always brings back fond memories. Captain America and the Avengers is a good vintage game for the SNES. I like Marvel characters, games, and comics, so I figure I try this game out. It is a great game. You pick from 4 Avengers (Cap, Iron Man, Vision, & Hawkeye). Each has their own special fighting style and abilities. You are to stop Red Skull and his minions from trying to take over the world, one city at a time. Along the way you fight mini-bosses and bosses, who are mostly known Marvel villains. As you progress into the game, you can receive help from others. Nice to play the game with another player as 2 make it easier to fight and conquer the enemies. Tag-teaming opponents, especially Bosses, makes it more fun. Drawbacks of the game is that instead of a life bar you have a number of health staring at 100 (or 99) kind of like the game Doom, but if you are hit, the number drops rapidly not slowly. So you need to keep an eye on your health number. Another disadvantage is that off-screen enemies can hit you, but you can not hit off-screen enemies. This next one can either be a pro or a con, Bosses take a very long time to fight, they take a lot and I mean a lot of hits to defeat. Even when they are low on health, they still take a lot of hits to beat them. Still overall a Great SNES game to play and own if you love the Avengers or old vintage arcade style fighting games.
A fun Nostalgic trip that is Avengers themed
Cap and the Avengers is a great game, It's a beat'em-up similar to streets of rage or any others. For nostalgic reasons, I rated this game high. I used play coop with my cousin, and was extremely fun to play. The controls are okay, each character has each own moves like for one of the buttons Cap throws his shield, Iron Man shoots a beam, Archer shoots an arrow. If you love the beat'em ups and love the Avengers, this game is for you.
Captain America Throwback game is fantastic!
When I was a kid, there was an arcade at the mall. They had this Captain America game that my brother and I loved to play. Well, a couple years ago when I went to college, my roommates and I bought a Super nintendo for fun. And I remembered this game! So I bought it! It is a VERY challenging game. We still havent beat it. It is so much fun to play as a multiplayer, too hard to play alone. If you want an action packed game with many different enemies including bosses in each level, this is a fantastic game for you!!!
