Easy to use
Good image quality
Decent but quirky!
Good compact size, generally easy to use once you master the quirks of this camera. Even when new (and I bought this one used as a gift), there are at least two issues -- it will often tell you batteries are exhausted, even if you've just replaced them. So you pop open the battery compartment and rotate the batts. Sometimes the shutter will stick and you'll see an odd shutter-stuck shape in view-finder. Turn off, turn on, repeat as needed. A useful zoom and there are adequate mega-pixels to give 11x14 photos.

This is the third camera of this model that I have had with power issues. It worked great for about a week after I bought it and then it started showing a "Change the Batteries" warning, even with new batteries. Then it also stopped showing a view of what it was taking a picture of. This model is a BAD investment.

CANON A520 Power shot
I bought three of them for my grand daughters to keep them out of my Pro Canons. They are 10 and 11 year olds, I want for them a camera they could handle size wise yet have a full range of features, they could use. as they learned photograph. That the Canon A520 does. by getting three I do not have to shift from one type a camera to another while teaching them to use all the features. Plus the canon A520 is not going to fall a part if a ten year old drops it. Thanks to Canon kids are learning to take exclnt photo's and thanks to E-Bay I was able to pickup three of them use at a great savings.
cannon powershot A520
i bought this camera brand new about 6 years ago it went threw a 4th of july fire(shot with fire extgwisher ) droped several times had a coke spill all over it & then dry up & make everything sticky threw all this the camera continued to take excellent pics & was always reliable untill it was stolen the new 10mp camera(nikkon S220) that i bought to replace it, just does not capture pics the same way the cannon a520 4mp camera did, so i have bought 3 cannon a520 camera threw ebay to replace the one i had all 3 sellers claimed it was a good working camera but after recieving, the cameras did not work (i guess other people abused them more than me) a good working a520 will take better pics & capture the moment much better than any new camera today it can handle all the abuse a snowboarder, off roader, fire starter, drag racer, back packer can put on a camera the only down side to the older modal a520 is the size (compared new modals today)
Another Great Find
I bought the camera because I already own one and also have the optional telephoto and wide angle lenses that are interchangeable with this camera. It's a great camera but one of it's flaws is that as time goes by the shutter style lense cover tends to stick. So I removed the cover from my original camera and just leave the wide agle lense on the camera, I like to take wide angle shots so it works out perfect. Even with this flaw it's still a great camera for the price. It doesn't cost a great deal of money and it's versatile enough to take some great pictures.
