    Dire Straits: On Every Street - Great Album - Get It & Enjoy!!!

    It is hard to say that an album is one of the Band's best, when all of their albums are great but, this album is without a doubt, one of their best. Mark Knopfler is acknowledged to be one of the best guitarists of all time and deservedly so. His unique style and lyrics and work with the Dire Straits Band is and will be enjoyed by old and new fans for generations. do yourself a great favor and find all the Dire Straits albums and solo and collaborative albums by Mark Knopfler on E-bay or other sources and start enjoying some of the best music you will ever find. I dare you to try and not become a fan. I think I have every bit of their music and only keep buying it to replace albums I have worn out or to gift to friends.

    Music to my ears

    When I was an adolescent, I had little appreciation for this style music. A friend of mine played this at work and I was bored out of my mind. It's not the impatient, immature listener who wants commercial music. But, now that I'm older and have more sophisticated taste, I can not only appreciate this but I could listen to this over and over again. Mark Knopfler's guitar work is phenomenal. It has such a sweet sound and is so intricately woven through the other instruments as if he invented this sound. Umm, oh, yeah, I think he did.? Like any other selection, the better your sound system, the more you will appreciate this. It has some catchy lyrics and songs but is not extremely commercial; yet I think it is fairly accessable.

    Nice album. Very musically diverse. "Heavy Fuel" rocks!

    REASON FOR PURCHASE? I have most of the Dire Straits albums and I'm trying to get all of them. I like Dire Straits a lot. I believe this was the last Dire Straits album and I was just curious how it sounded. LIKES? The album has like 3 or 4 very catchy tunes that make the album. These include "Heavy Fuel," "Calling Elvis," and some others. Very good album. I was impressed. DISLIKES? Some songs were not as strong as others. Like some songs had a country style, which is not music to me. That didn't turn me off too much because the album had more positives than negatives. Overall, excellent album (5 out of 5). If you are a Dire Straits fan, gotta have this one!!!!!! Good luck everyone.

    Dire Straits fantastic, great guitar work, the tune You and your Friend is cool, along with the whole CD, it's old school but awesome
