The advertising says it has twice as much power as the V7, yet this V10 only lasts about 30 at full power. The head bristles should be slightly longer and a more aggressive. The whole unit has very little weight so they should have added more batteries for longer power duration. Overall it's not worth my $400, I have no choice now but to make do with it.

Battery time varies depending on what tools you use! Great portable Vacuum!
This and the V8 are great portable vacuums. It is so handy not having a cord or long hose to lug around. I see some negative reviews on battery life and think many people do not understand that battery life depends greatly on which power setting you are using as well as which tool. To get maximum battery life you need to have the vacuum set on the lowest power and NOT be using a motorized tool like the main floor tool. Using the motorized floor tool on highest boost power only lasts 5 minutes and that is exactly what Dyson estimates. I have found my V8 works best on carpet on the lowest setting and lasts longest as well. It's harder to push on high because of the strong suction. I rarely use the high setting and the spring loaded trigger helps use only battery when you need it.

Powerful and compact.
Dyson has finally produced a capable cordless vacuum that can rival a corded unit. We've had a very quiet yet powerful Miele vacuum for years and it has performed admirably. However, after getting a Roomba, the Miele has been relegated to small touch up jobs. Getting it out every time just to do a spot clean has become increasingly annoying. The Dyson V10 solves the problem and has a much smaller footprint in our condo. We are loving it!
