Lasts about 10 minutes on high using the power brush. Does an excellent job cleaning the carpeted areas even though its not the animal model. We use it for quick clean ups and weekly use our corded vacuum for whole house vacuuming. Would have been nice if Dyson would have included a powered mini brush with the vacuum. Only wish the battery had a higher capacity even though it would add weight to the unit; a 20 minute run time at high with the powered brush would make this an ideal unit.

Good suction, batter, dust bin ***BUT*** too heavy vs DC59 or V6.
we upgraded from DC59 motorhead and ended up regretting it. DC59 (V6) was about 4 lbs. The V10 is close to 6 lbs. Funny how 2 little lbs makes such as difference as it takes a toll on cleaning jobs lasting more than several seconds. The effort it takes to move it around (which the Dyson is always in constant motion when being used), the weird grip and the protruding dirt holding tank in front of the trigger...all adds up to muscle soreness. Yes - the suction power is strong and may than satisfactory, battery lasts much longer, simple switch to increase/decrease suction, and the dustbin ejection is better than DC59/v6. But at the end of the day, the extra added heft makes it lesser and lesser compelling for some impromptu clean jobs. It'll probably stay in the charger more often than the old one.

Great overall cordless vac
Bought this as a replacement to an older Dyson cordless from about 5 years ago. This V10 refurb... Pros - Came in plain brown packaging, professionally and neatly packed. Looked brand new and no signs of previous use. Many of these units are returns from wives who purchased them and then told their husbands who said what in the world did you spend $550 on a vacuum - Great suction with 3 levels of power - 50+ min on low power - 35 - 40 min at medium power (this is a very good power and I suspect for most folks is the level that works well with solid suction and long charge to get through a 3000 sq ft house) - comes with standard wide rotating head plus two attachments (brush and crevice tool) as well as a wall mount and charger - Sleek red color Cons - Max suction lasts only 15 min - Small dirt canister, had to empty 5 times for a 3000 sq ft house Overall, for Dyson, this Motörhead refurb from Dyson is a solid value for those looking to save from brand new and don’t require all the fancy attachments the other models may have. For the money saved I don’t mind emptying the dirt canister an extra time or two for a decently sized house.

Good product, easier to empty than prior models
Good product, easier to empty than prior models. I got this to replace our aging stick vacs of which we have two prior Dyson models. My biggest complaint about them is they are hard to empty and I needed a pair of tongs to reach the hair stuck inside. This has been solved in this model because the canister moves down as well as empties below, giving easy access to the areas where things used to get stuck. My old model's batteries are starting to go bad, so I got this new model and am not disappointed. Its hard to use the highest power on a rug because of the more powerful suction, but that is fine, I only need more suction on the floors anyway. It has a nice 2 year Parts and labor warrantee, also a nice feature. Parts are not interchangeable with the prior models however. I also like the way it plugs into the charging station better than the old ones which sometimes did not work well in this regard. I would take issue that it is "the only vacuum you need" for the house because you would need to empty it often for such a big area, and it will need charging before you finish more than one room. I think they could have made it a little easier to move on rugs too. Overall, I rate it highly though.

Awesome v10
Works much better than the v 6. Has battery life to clean entire 4 bedroom house. Cleans well on medium power setting to control battery life. Highly recommend buying the fluffy head for hard floors
