too quiet
This pedal ultimately reduced the level of my bass going into the amp. There wasn't enough makeup gain to reach unity with the unprocessed signal; this was true for any combination of settings on the knobs. I sent the first one back because I figured it had to be defective, but the one I got as a replacement was exactly the same. A compressor should be designed to meet or exceed the volume of the unprocessed signal, and I'm not sure why the Bass Preacher can't do this.This pedal ultimately reduced the level of my bass going into the amp.
