About this product

Product Information

In this lighthearted spoof of the spy genre, Don Adams played Maxwell Smart, a secret agent who was anything but. Under the guidance of his long-suffering Chief (Edward C. Platt), and catty partner Agent 99 (Barbara Feldon), Smart spent the show bumbling his way through the conspiracies of KAOS and saving the day despite himself. Created by Mel Brooks (THE PRODUCERS) and Buck Henry (THE GRADUATE), the series was marked by the pair's vaudevillian dialogue, shrewd satire, and flawless grasp of the absurd. The show's trapdoor telephone booth, phone shoe, and brassy theme song remain indelible pieces of classic television. This collection presents all 138 episodes of the show's complete five seasons.

    And... Loving it

Growing up in the late 80s before bedtime, I found this awesome show on Nick at Nite. I fell in love with it instantly. Now I own it all and I couldn't be happier. Basically, it's a clean version of Austin Powers set in a time where spy flicks and themes were hard core. You will get great laughs out of this, see some nifty gadgets, and it caters to what spy fans love: girls, guns, and espionage.

  • very Smart purchase

As kids we grew up watching shows, often in reruns, that we never took in in their entirety, often missing pilots, or whole early seasons, enjoying them anyway. There is a charm, or satisfaction, to going back and watching these old favorites, from their beginning, and then all the way through, that easily overcomes things like dated styles, or over-fond remembrances. I own several complete "older" series now, and there are endless tidbits that turn up, that make the whole just so much better. For example, I had no idea Mr Haney actually sold Mr Douglas the farm that curses him on Green Acres. This makes his endless remedies pitch far funnier, knowing he created the problem in the first place! Wicked man! All of which brings us to this fine old series. Get Smart is such clever cornball ...

  • Get Smart Gift Set

My husband and I love watching this series again in order. We've always admired Mel Brook's sense of humor and we enjoy looking at the old cars (which we wish we had) the hair styles and clothing. We laugh at different situations and share a closeness that only comes from watching Get Smart. He knows a lot of the lines and I mutter "That is so stupid." Buying the set as a Christmas gift for my husband is one of the coolest things I have ever done. It is actually wholesome and the little amount of violence it contains actually seems funny, knowing good will always overcome evil. We need more comedy like Get Smart in our lives.

  • Great box set

  • Got Smart

I used to watch this series with my dad when I was a kid. We loved sitting down to watch Maxwell Smart fight the forces of evil CAOS. I was very happy to find this box of the entire series. My wife doesn't like this type of humor like I do, but my boys enjoy it. Maybe it is a guy 'thing' since my boys and I enjoy the episodes. It is good humor and great memories! I still have a place in my heart for Agent 86, Agent 99 and the chief.
