| When the Air Force's newest stealth bomber--complete with cloaking device--disappears, secret agent Alex Scott (Owen Wilson) is sent to Budapest to find it. To Scott's dismay, he is teamed with undefeated middleweight champion Kelly Robinson (Eddie Murphy), who is slated to fight in Budapest where suspected Stealth thief, arms dealer and boxing fan Arnold Gundars (Malcolm McDowell) is throwing a party in honor of the boxers. Scott uses cool spy equipment to encourage the egotistical Robinson to work with him. Initially at odds with each other, the two eventually bond as they're chased through Budapest by Gundar's henchmen, using spy tools and street smarts to foil the bad guys. To complicate matters, Scott has a crush on a sexy agent, Rachel (Famke Janssen), who may or may not have her own agenda. Gary Cole plays superstar agent Carlos, the envy of the other agents and the guy with the coolest spy toys. Directed by Betty Thomas (28 DAYS, DR. DOOLITTLE), the film is loosely based on the 1960s television series of the same name starring Robert Culp and Bill Cosby. | |

Attitude meets espionage
Every ten years or so, a comedy comes along that redefines Movie Comedy. Police Academy, Coming To America, Wayne's World & Austin Powers are some recent examples. This isn't another one. It's fair to say I hadn't been as excited about the pairing of Eddie Murphy and Owen Wilson since Pacino and DeNiro in "Heat". The movie seemed to have all the ingredients, but an ordinary script and the "max factor" of Kelly Robinson made sure this movie never reached it's potential. Don't get me wrong, there's a few gems, most notably when Eddie's character helps Owen pick up a woman and when the two have a brilliant heart-to-heart in a sewer. Unfortunately there's not enough of these moments and we're left wanting more. Still worth seeing though.

Enjoyable and Entertaining
In this movie I SPY, Alex Scott is sent to Budapest as a stealth bomber is missing. A heavyweight champion is going to Budapest to fight and this is how Alex gets in; he travels with Kelly Robinson to Budapest. It is really funny because Alex is always coaxing Kelly with this SPY gear and 'toys' and Kelly is truly addicted to this stuff. Both of those characters have a few dots missing from their dice.

Too funnny! Has it ALL....I watch it a dozen times a year at least...
I LOVED THIS MOVIE! I don't know why it didn't do better at the box office. Must've come out at the same time as some HUGE sequel or something. Eddie Murphy is arrogant and HILARIOUS! Owen Wilson is perfect...as usual.... ;-) These 2 are brilliant together!

I Spy 2003 DVD.
I like eBay, yet haveing to do two of these reviews for this DVD annoys me. This is my final review today, and right now I'd rather be doing something else because eBay asked me to do it. I already sent feedback for this purchase, days after the purchase was made, and now months later, eBay thinks people have nothing better to do then to write another review, thank God this is my final one, or at least I hope so.
