Great choice for a budget gaming PC. Excellent performance. Sips power.
This is an extremely fast Ivy Bridge i3 processor. 3.4GHz is blazing fast, and with hyper-threading, this processor performs like a quad-core. Fast + plentiful cores = a good combination! I have built several PCs with this processor. It is 80-90% of the performance of an i5/i7 for 1/2 - 2/3 less. Price to performance is phenomenal. I built two gaming PCs with this processor. One with an HD 6850 and the other with a GTX 560 ti 448 core, and the buyers of the PCs were thrilled with their $500 gaming beasts. It is also a great CPU for office home. HD 2500 graphics is plenty for dual-monitor viewing and basic home and office tasks like watching videos and movies. You need a video card if you want to play games or render videos, however.
