  • Good GNR album

OK, gotta admit, I have a love-hate relationship with Slash's music. As a human, the guy seems like kind of a dweeb, but his guitar playing and tone are far more respectable than I'm always willing to admit, and this album is a good example. The album sounds like what you would have expected GNR to release as a follow-up to Appetite for Destruction, and it also demonstrates where the main songwriting strength of GNR was -- very cool tunes and tough grooves. There are a few guitarist/singer combos that have something special to them -- Mick Jagger & Keith Richards, Robert Plant & Jimmy Page, Dave Navarro & Perry Farrell. I consider Axl Rose & Slash to have been another. Singer Eric Dover (formerly guitarist for the amazing Beatles/Supertramp/Queen/Badfinger-sounding 80s phenomenon Jellyfish ...

  • Slash

I love Slash as a guitar player. and i think the musisc is pretty good. Not quite the caliber of Guns & Roses, but very decent and well worth listening to. On the other hand I think Slashs' choice of lead singer was definitley a bad choice. The singer just does too much screaming and screeching. and not enough singing. He's like a bad 80's hard rock singer, that shouldn't be on this album. The music is good and enjoyable, but the singing ruins it for me. 1 play through was enough. I'm glad Slashs' new band Velvet Revolver has got an awesome line-up.

  • Ok album, nothing too special.

It's just ok, I think, and no song really jumps out at me from this album that I absolutely love.
