|After a six-year hiatus, Quentin Tarantino returns to the director's chair with KILL BILL. The movie proves once again that he is a hyperactive visionary and the master of cinematic coolness. Split into two volumes by Miramax in order to ensure that Tarantino's vision would not be compromised (and presumably to sell more tickets), KILL BILL: VOL. 1 tells the first half of the sprawling story, which is quite simple at first glance. A female assassin, referred to as "The Bride" (Uma Thurman), is attacked on her wedding day. Dead are her soon-to-be husband and unborn child. However, she doesn't die. Four years later, she wakes up from a coma looking for revenge. Although her ultimate target is her former boss, Bill (David Carradine), it's quite clear that The Bride is saving the best for last. And before she can track him down, she must methodically take out the minions who ruined her life. VOLUME 1's targets include Vernita Green/Copperhead (Vivica A. Fox), Sofie Fatale (Julie Dreyfus), and the heartless O-Ren Ishii/Cottonmouth (Lucy Liu). Using a blessed sword handmade by Hattori Hanzo (Sonny Chiba), The Bride begins her relentless assault.Turning up the style and energy levels that he kept under a threshold with 1997's JACKIE BROWN, Tarantino's obvious glee and reverence for the underground kung fu action pictures of the '70s, and Sergio Leone spaghetti westerns, makes for a stunning visual spectacle. Employing split screens, slow-motion, an anime sequence, and his trademark ultra-hip musical selections, Tarantino's film dares viewers to be unimpressed.|

Directed with a rare "in your face" type of passion!
First and foremost, the movie itself looks absolutely amazing on blu-ray, and is by far, one of the greatest upgrades I have made (from STD DVD) - everything from the colors to the vivid lifelike textures of each and every frame stand out and bring a whole new appreciation to a film that I had already admired since I saw it in the movies upon release. Secondly, Uma Thurman is incredible as the Bride, and her role alone is enough to purchase this movie. I mean, it is SO stylishly done, you cannot help but admire the lengths at what Tarantino has done to compile his great memoirs from B-Grade movies from the old times, and kind of repackage it into a mix of his passions. This movie has tremendous value, and I'm glad to be able to add this to my collection.
Kill Bill Vol 1 Blu Ray
This movie was insane. I loved both volume one and two from start to finish. Awesome effects, awesome fight scenes, interesting plot. Unique in every way. For the people who are saying "this is garbage" "everyone who liked this is crazy and has no taste in movies," I respect your opinions, but I don't know how such a 'crappy' movie can land (both volumes one and two) in the top 250, with thousands of voters. Love it or hate, I'm pretty sure the majority loves it. And all the actors and actresses played their parts perfectly. This movie was worth every penny spent. Keep the movies coming QT. I first got this movie in DVD and then in Blu-Ray...and wow what eye candy it is in blu-ray. The part were Uma and Lucy are fighting...amazing.
Kung fu flix
I love this movie and one of the few movies I can see over and over again without getting tired. The movie is a great mixture of American culture infuse with Japanese culture and tell a story unlike any other before it. Quentin Tarantino shows us again why he the best at what he does especially when comes the genre of action movies. The style in which the film is presented shows a unique camera angle along with style use in many Japanese style movies shows his ispiration for this movie. I would say for anyone who is a fan of this genre should definitely have this movie in their collection.
fassst And Perfection
I bought the Killbill 1 a few days ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive Blu ray. It has a uma therman and quintin tarentino. The kill bill 1 blu ray is perfect for carrying in a pocket and the disc has a pretty good lifespan of roughly 4ever untill damaged. My only complaint is that the menu system on the movie makes you watch four times before you can find someone in the Credits, Intro, or ending. Other Movies I've owned have simpler menus and get you to important features easily. Overall, I'd recommend the Film if you're on a budget
Best Action Film Ever!
If you love action movies, Kill Bill is for you!! It is a revenge movie, where you really can not stand the people who get killed. They are really terrible!! It is violent, so little kids shouldn't watch it and it isn't for anyone who can't handle blood. However, Quentin Tarantino has a great eye and does everything in a dramatic and artistic way. Honestly, it is one of the best action packed movies ever!!!
