Metal Collar Tripod Mount Ring for Nikon 80-200 mm Lens
The metal collar tripod mount ring is made to stabilize a Nikon camera mounted with a Nikon AF-S 80-200 mm lens on a tripod. I bought it to stabilize a Nikon Coolpix P900 camera on a tripod. You cannot do this without some modification of the metal collar. See below. The mounting ring is solid, well made and easy to use. As it comes, it is too big (in diameter) for the P900 camera. However, as advised by a friend, I lined the ring with a 1/2 inch wide Velcro strip lined with an adhesive backing. (I bought the Velcro strip in the Cloth Section of a local Walmart Store.) With the Velcro liner in place, the metal collar fits perfectly around the lens barrel of the P900 camera, and when the collar and camera are mounted on my tripod, keeps the camera firmly in place. Very stable. Moreover, I have access to all buttons, battery and memory card. I am quite happy with this item, it was quite inexpensive and arrived in a timely manner. I knew in advance that I would need to use the Velcro to adapt the camera to work with my camera.

Does not fit AF Nikon 80-200 mm F 2.8 D
I bought the product because it printed on the product that for Nikon 80-200 mm F2.8 D. It Did Not Fit , somehow its diameter is smaller than the diameter of the lenses. Bought from China, not worth to send back with all the shipping and insurance cost. I just modify or give to charity. But I am not happy because of all the waiting and the tripod mount does not fit.Just want the next person to know, before, ordering.

Lens collar works on Nikon P900.
I'm using the collar on a Nikon Coolpix P900 to provide a better tripod mount than the one in the camera body. With fuzzy Velcro strips used as space-fillers, it fits well and works as planned. Fit and finish is good, although its weight implies it's not made of aluminum. But for the price, it's a good value.

for nikon p900 it fits with old inner tube around the lens..
Very solid and good item, i use it for the nikon p900, it is a little to big, but i use a piece of scooter/motor old innertube to fit and that works great.. also a mountainbike inner tube will, but you need to pull harder to get it around the lens the inner tube has to be around 1 and max 1.5mm thick, more is to much put the 20a30mm width inner tube around the lens and it can still stay there with or with out the mount... the mount is 18mm width and has a maximum lens size of 80mm diameter, it also has a thin filt layer inside the mount

Happy camper here.
I used it on an old, very heavy Tamron 200-400mm lens, hoping that it would be the right size. It was slightly larger in diameter and wider than ideal, but by cutting a strip of thin cardboard as a filler, it is usable. The diameter is critical, and my gamble paid off. The price is right. No complaints here.
