Mercury Man Interesting Movie but Slightly Deceptive
I have to admit that it was the title and the cover art that intrigued me. We saw the movie at the store and turned to ebay to buy it a little cheeper and for the price, it wasn't bad. What kind of put my wife and I off about it though was that for roughly the first half of the movie the dialogue seemed to indicate that the bad guys were Christian terrorists. The terminology of the villians was compelling. Then they finally admitted that the criminals were in fact supposedly radical Muslim nutjobs and it was then that the contradictory belief in God with the will to kill for god made more sense. Anyone who listens to the words of the screwed up imams pushing jihad and the crazed lunatic idea of killing everyone who does not believe as you do while supposedly supporting a religion ... Anyone who listens to the words of the screwed up imams pushing jihad and the crazed lunatic idea of killing everyone who does not believe as you do while supposedly supporting a religion of love and peace would see just how much of a wack job someone would have to be to support such a faith and this is the type of faith very eloquently portrayed in this movie. As much as I am tempted to do otherwise, I will refrain from divulging the ending to this film. Let's just say that the head idiots running the crimes end up reaping a very just reward for their attrocities, much like I personally believe those in real life should get for going against Mohammad's rules of warfare like the cowardly currs they are (which they supposedly believe in following) and waging war on women, children and the innocent who cannot hope to properly defend themselves. Even though this movie is primarily for entertainment, it kind of brings some of the truths about radical Islam to light in a very slow and subtle way. Though we're not sure if we're going to keep it or resell the movie, the writers, producers, and other assorted cast should be commended for a job well done. As a final note, the main reason for the low rating comes from the unbelievable way Modern Christianity (seemingly implied, but not actually named) seems to be portrayed for the first part of the film, that is, until the villains finally make it clear who they are supposed to be; Muslims.
