|The filmmakers behind THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA take on another bestseller in the family film MARLEY AND ME. Based on the hit memoir by John Grogan, MARLEY AND ME chronicles the relationship of John (Owen Wilson) and Jen (Jennifer Aniston) as they face the challenges of marriage and work to start a family. By their side is their beloved dog, Marley, who can chew through drywall, got kicked out of obedience school, and never met a leg he didn't like. The cute pup's antics come to signify the unexpected challenges that everyone faces in adulthood, and the film is ultimately a paean to unconditional love; others may see Marley as the "world's worst dog," but throughout it all, he proves to be the couple's most faithful friend.MARLEY AND ME plays like a modern day Norman Rockwell portrait with a little more bite, courtesy of the snark-friendly screenwriters and the title's wild mutt. The sets are sumptuous, with every shot lovingly lit to look like a Hallmark card. The winning lead performances help elevate the picture above its feel-good counterparts; Aniston is radiant and Wilson shows off sharp dramatic chops, giving some maturity to his loveable comedic persona. Alan Arkin gives a scene-stealing performance as Wilson's boss, and Kathleen Turner proves to be a great sport with her physically demanding cameo as Marley's obedience instructor. But in the end the picture belongs to the dogs, and for once that's a good thing. A film that keeps the audience cooing, cracking up, and crying, MARLEY AND ME is sure to become a family favorite.|

The Most Adorable Movie of 2008 - You will Love it.
Marley & Me is just adorable. Newspaper Columnist John Grogan was inspired in real life to write this story and it was soon to be a movie. Marley's antics and nature helps to shape the couples lives for the next 15 years, even giving John plenty of material to write in his column. After the wedding, John and Jennifer move to Florida and begin to live their lives. John isn't ready to have children yet so thinks that Jennifer will be occupied by other thoughts, so he decides to get her a cute puppy hoping it will cheer her up and take her mind off of her on biological clock. Not unlike the film Turner & Hooch (Tom Hanks), this movie pulls hard at your heart strings. If you know what it means to have pets, then maybe you can relate. Even this couple, Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston go to the dogs with Marley (the 100 pound blonde Labrador retriever as their only child in tow. The couple embarks on an adventure of marriage, career, family, and the world's worst dog. Even though the ending is very sad, it seems to tie us all together and eventually bring new happiness and new memories we all can enjoy. 5/5 Rating for this one. Own it forever on Blu-Ray! Charming, thoughtful - probably not what you'd expect
I read Marley & Me several years ago and was happy to see a movie was coming out. The initial critic's reviews I read made it sound like a weak movie. They were wrong. Marley & Me does a great job of telling the story of the Grogan family. Yes, the main character is Marley, but Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson are great in their roles. Marley's antics are hilarious and we get to see the family evolve throughout the movie. I think the writers and directors did a great job in telling this story. All in all, an enjoyable movie with plenty of laughs and plenty of tears. My daughter and I both enjoyed it a lot. I plan on seeing Marley & Me again in the theater with my husband and I'm sure we'll watch it again on video.
*~*~ TWO THUMBS WAY UP!!! A MUST SEE!! ~*~*
Marley & Me is not your typical pet movie, and Marley is NOT your typical dog. Awesome FAMILY movie for all ages and adults! This movie shows the true connection between many pet owners and their pets. Want to see a film where a pet is not "just a pet or animal", but a greatly loved family member? See Marley & Me. A very realistic film. Its a comedy as well as a movie that has a serious side. EXCELLENT acting/acting cast, and very well written. Owen Wilson and Jennifer Anniston played their parts very well together. WE HIGHLY SUGGEST "Marley & Me" Rent It or Buy It? We say BUY IT! VERY GOOD MOVIE! Marley and Me is a wonderful family film
Marley and Me is a wonderful family film. Jennifer Anisten and Owen Wilson star in this real life film. Jennifer has her life all planned out in steps. Spouse, Owen Wilson seems to be reaching for his life goals and realizing that the, 'grass is not always greener elsewhere'. It is all about a day in the life so to speak. The movie takes one through the couples eyes, as they venture out looking for a new job, buy a home, get a puppy, have children, grow older, and deal with lifes pressures, disapointments, and everyday drama's. Whaile Marley seemed to be a "Bad Boy" much of the time, it was he who captured the hearts of this family. I laughed and I cried! Great film with real life situations.
Marley & Me (Blu-ray Disc, 2009, 2-Disc Set, Bad Boy Edition; Widescreen)
Marley and Me is a tender-hearted, easy-going film that will appeal to any dog-lover. But it will also, I think, appeal to anyone who can look back on his or her life and trace a common thread through each passing year. A beloved pet, like Marley, has that unique capability. I wish I could thank my own dog for that. But, as one of the children in the movie tearfully says, I'm sure he already knows.
