| One of the most popular television shows of the 1980s, MIAMI VICE helped define the fashion and music of the period while simultaneously maintaining a high quality police drama standard. The show is famous for its pastel colors and bright south Florida settings, which serve to counteract the sleaze its main characters often had to deal with. Sonny and Rico are two cops who work undercover for the Miami Police Department. They must balance their myriad personal problems with the difficulty of being undercover in some of Miami's most rotten criminal businesses. Luckily, upbeat '80s music, and their own personal sense of cool, help. MIAMI VICE made a short-lived star out of Don Johnson, who eventually won a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Sonny, and supporting star Edward James Olmos (as a police captain) won both the Golden Globe and an Emmy. Quality is lacking...
Content is great! Disc quality is lacking. Put out by Mill Creek. Plays skippy, wasn’t cut precisely enough? Packaging is flimsy. Double sided sleeves. But for under $30 should I be disappointed? I’ve only played the first disc of the third season. Hopefully this is not indicative of the rest.

Miami Vice, nice simple title for a vice squad in Miami
If you liked Miami Vice the first time this is a good way to see it all again. Or if you like good music and action will be good the first time. Not as good as HD, but pretty close. Can't beat it for the price. The only con is the packaging is not as good as I would like. Too easy for the disc's to fall out.

Great cop show that gave us great characters in Sonny Crockett, Ricardo Tubbs, Stan Switek, Larry Zito & Trudy Joplin. One of the coolest cop shows to ever grace the TV screen! I loved how in depth the show went with the storylines... then, all the characters worked so well together on screen. Along with Starsky & Hutch, Simon & Simon, Hunter, Charlie's Angels & Remington Steele... Miami Vice is right there for most epic TV cop/detective shows in television history!

A Blast from the Past
Those of us of a...ehem...certain age, remember Crockett and Tubs when they first came into our living rooms via network and broadcast TV. (Look it up kids.) It's hard to believe it, but yes - we actually dressed like that! Anyone remember the "Miami Device"? It was a little gadget that you attached to your electric razor so that you could shave and leave your beard at the perfect "looks like you haven't shaved in three days" look. Just like Sonny Crocket, Oh Boy! Anyway, I remember reading an interview with the show's creator who said that he had been stuck in an L.A. traffic jam and was trying to think up an idea for a new show when it hit him: MTV Cops! You know, a cop show that looked like a music video complete with top 40 hits? I've been trying to think of what that would look like today. An unmarried, pregnant, teenaged cop? A group of cops all living in the same house pretending to like each other then going into the video booth to complain and criticize and put each other down? Weird! Well if you want to see the hair and the clothes and the naïve ideas of what everyone back then thought was "bad" and "evil", then "Miami Vice" is for you. Pretty good music and pretty girls in bikinis too!
