This is a great product. I tested its performance on indoors a tent and found no Carbon smell; I tipped it over and it shut off. Besides, the heat will melt you on high, so be share the area you want to warm up is good size (400sf) or so, if smaller the other buddy heaters are just as good. This companies service was great; shipped timely and arrive on time.

Great Heater, Did Not Work On Arrival--Fixed in 30 Minutes
This is the older model Big Buddy heater, which actually has a fan....unlike the newer heaters, which don't have the fan. The reason the fan was removed from the new heaters is because somebody started a trade war with China, where the fan is made...gee thanks! (Politics!!!) Unfortunately, the fan was likely not tested before it was sold. Thus, it arrived with a stuck fan. I was able to take it apart, and get it working again. So, my rating would be a 5, if it had arrived in full working order. Instead, it is a 3. My bet is that the fan was stuck from the beginning; thus, the reason the heater was not used.

It works.
I’ve used it 3x. It has had some start up issues when it is cold, or when some snow flurries got onto the IR mat or the primer light. Otherwise, once lit, worked great.
