There can definitely be some privacy concerns with these types of devices, and I've always had some trouble setting them up. However, once set up they are an amazing tool and convenience. We have 6 lights hooked up via smart plugs, etc. which means you don't have to fumble around in the dark to find the switch, and you can keep the light on until you are tucked into bed. Oh, and these devices even tell some pretty funny jokes. Great sound; quality construction; low price!

Unable to connect to internet
I tried, my daughter tried, I read umpteen how tos and tried. It simply would not connect. I’d had others I bought new that worked flawlessly. I gave them to my daughter and they worked for her. I ended up trading it in on Amazon for a newer brand new one. I would caution about buying one of these used for that reason.

Awesome Sound
These little pucks are great! Impressive sound and even more so when you have four of them! I can give Alexa a command to play music and it comes through loud and clear on two of them with a stereo effect. I can also tell Alexa to play "everywhere" and I get all four putting out rich dynamic sound the covers the majority of downstairs. Combined wiht the Echo Show, you have a music system, information system and security system all in one. Alexa can do just about anything you ask. Highly recommend this system.

Nice, simple and easy to use voice assistant.
For an easy to use assistant for daily informational needs the Echo Dot is an excellent value. You can use as an emergency call device to make a life saving call. Need to know the weather, time, calendar entries, reminders and the list goes on. It has excellent voice recognition.

Best Gift I've ever Purchased
I got this as a gift for my Mom. She liked how I was able to ask my Alexa how to spell words; or find zip codes to addresses; and tell Alexa to turn down to another level when she was too loud. And she liked how you could ask her to play any station she desired. Now she has her own. And it didn't burn my pocket book. I was able to give her a great quality gift for the first time. And the best thing is, it arrived on her Birthday. It was suppose to arrive 6 days after her birthday. And I would have been saying Happy Birthday Mom your gifts in the mail. Tell me that wasn't kismet. Right on time. With it's new updates, it looked better than my Alexa. I maybe getting myself a new one soon.
