|The Nikon Nikkor TC-20E III autofocus teleconverter is a sleek, versatile secondary lens that enhances the power of your photography. It was designed to benefit not only the professional photographer but any fan or enthusiast of incredible, breathtaking images and sophisticated optical design. Featuring a high-performance 2.6-inch diameter lens, the Nikon TC-20E III teleconverter achieves a brilliant color resolution and a superior contrast that will bring out the exquisite details of your photographs. The 2x optical conversion factor can essentially double the focal length of attached Nikkor lenses, offering you an easy and portable way to extend your photographic reach with crisp and clear close-ups. Simply mount this device between your camera and your main photographic lenses, and you will be taking stunning photographs that offer vibrant colors and crystal-clear detail. The Nikon TC-20E III teleconverter also benefits from the inclusion of an aspherical lens. That makes a huge difference in your photography. A non-spherical lens will almost completely eliminate various aberrations that could mar the image. In addition, the use of a single non-spherical lens obviates the need for a much more complex multi-lens system, creating a lighter and smaller design. To ensure the production of high-quality images, this device features seven different lens elements in five distinct groups. It features an integrated coating that reduces ghosting effects and annoying flares and also achieves a more consistent and uniform color balance. That, in turn, enhances performance and light transmission efficiency. This telephoto device is optimized for use with various Nikon DSLR cameras that have a fast AF-I or AF-S lens and an aperture of f/2.8 or greater. The maximum format size of this device is 35 millimeters, and it's compatible with all DX and FX format sensors. However, using a DX lens on an FX camera or vice versa will result in a 1.5x crop factor. Make sure your equipment conforms to those standards to ensure full compatibility. The Nikon Nikkor TC-20E III teleconverter attaches to the camera with a Nikon F-Bayonet mount type. When it's mounted on the camera's lens, it will cut down on the amount of light by 2 full f-stops.The Nikon TC-20E teleconverter is compact, durable, and easy-to-carry for use in all kinds of adverse outdoor conditions. It's perfect for sports, wildlife, and surveillance. It is convenient when you cannot easily approach the subject and require a sharp shot from a distance. Thanks to its color rendition features, you do not need to be a professional photographer to see improvement in your photos. It has the ability to reveal the colors of your subjects with incredible depth and precision. The Nikon Nikkor TC-20E III teleconverter consists of a plastic bubble case and a fluted metal ring. This reduces damage and extends the teleconverter's lifespan. For an extra grip on the surface, the diaphragm design is soft and comfortable for easy handling. This device is also lightweight at around 11.06 oz for easier transportation and mobility. It comes with a BF-3A front cap, an LF-1 rear cap, and a Cl-0715 case right out of the box.|

This TC-20E III is outstanding when used properly with right lens & body!!
Folks, I use this TC-20 with my Nikkor AF-S 200mm F2 VR "CHUBBY STUBBY" AND THAT TC-20 CONVERTS IT TO ONE FAST 400mm lens when used with my D700 body for reaching out and touching somebody. I have used it for football, basketball and water polo with outstanding stop action results. Would not use this with anything higher than a f2.8 pro lens. It truly is well built and does an excellent job for me, I am very pleased with the results. Remember, to use a mono pod because this combo hand held takes a gorilla to hold up all day. Plus, I also have my AF-S 70-200mm f2.8 VR zoomer mounted on my D800 hanging on a sling around my neck for when the play action comes in close. These two heavies together are a real workout for an ole 70 year young Photog but I am still vertical and loving it! V/R KMW
Good, not as sharp as prime lens
I've seen people claim that using this 2x extender yields results as good as photographing with a 600mm native lens. That's a bit of an exaggeration. However, the results of a current production Nikon 300mm f2.8 in combination with a TC-20EIII are certainly good, especially if you can work at f4 or f5.6.

Nikon Hits Home Run
I use this on a 70-200mm VR and 400mm AI-S f/2.8 lenses. The teleconverter gives me a very lightweight portable 400mm lens. The autofocus is hampered due to its f/5.6 effective maximum aperture. For static shots, or if a professional body is used, the autofocus works very well even in minimal lighting conditions. The autofocus problems do not effect my manual focus lenses and the increased resolution and reach are nothing short of incredible. Nikon hit a home run with this 3rd generation teleconverter.
I rented the Version 2 of this several years ago on a trip to Gatlinburg along with a 70-200. The combo was pretty amazing for wildlife. These things retail for $500 and while it was a fun combo to rent for a week, I was never sure how much I'd use it. Well fast forward to recently, and I had a little disposable income. It also aligned with a 15% off Ebay sale. So combining used prices and the coupon, I was able to get Version 3 of this for $297 which was a lot better in my scenario than $500. Ordered it Friday and it arrived on Monday from California. Stuck it on my 70-200 and went outside and it's sharp with good clarity and contrast. Love it! Maybe I'll use it more now that I own it! Versatility for your Fast Lens
Only get this item for you already have a Fast Lens (2.8). You lose 2 stop of light, but if you are shooting outdoors with good light and you need some reach. This is a good choice. Save a lot of $$$$ and makes your 70-200 very versatile.
