|Get ready to take some incredible and crisp pictures with the Nikon 2192 zoom lens. This Nikkor 18-200mm lens is a portable and lightweight accessory that helps bring out the great quality of your photographs. Integrated with 2-ED glass and three aspherical elements, this lens was made for improving resolution and reducing chromatic aberrations. This reduction in chromatic aberration and other distortions occurs even at wider apertures. The maximum aperture range of this 18-200mm zoom lens extends from f/3.5 to f/5.6 to provide you with numerous options. Take pictures just the way you want with the adjustable focal length that ranges between 18-200mm. With these focal lengths, you're provided with a minimum focus distance of just 1.6 ft. The lens offers angle coverage from 8 to 76 degrees, allowing you to also take DX format photographs. Whether snapping a simple portrait or a scenic panoramic shot, high quality, superior photographs are the norm with this Nikon lens. These AF-S lenses are equipped with a vibration reduction solution. This allows for shooting at around four shutter speeds slower than is normal with this Nikon lens. This will ensure sharper images when you're on the move, eliminating the potential for too much blur. You also won't need to worry about the length of the lens changing, as a zoom lock switch is included. This switch locks the barrel of the lens at its minimum length. These lenses work with most DSLR cameras in the Nikon DX line. At 3.03 by 3.03 by 3.82 inches, it's small enough to carry in a bag when not attached to your camera. It weighs less than a pound so using it with your digital SLR is doable without adding tons of extra weight. The all-black body of this Nikon lens consists of a plastic barrel and metal mount for a high-quality construction. For macro photography, this Nikon item has a macro focus range of .50m. Whichever type of camera you’re using it with controls the aperture settings of this system. Whenever you wish to switch from autofocus to manual focus, a switch is included toward the back of the lens. This switch allows rapid movement between the two modes with hardly any wait. The hood for this Nikon model is shaped like a flower for an aesthetically pleasing look. The 7-blade diaphragm on this device is rounded and provides a more natural appearance for elements that are out of focus. These 200mm zoom-Nikkor lenses are also equipped with a Nikon exclusive SWM, or silent wave motor. This motor is essential for the operation of autofocus, as it allows for fast, quiet, and accurate operation. A super integrated coating is included as well with this Nikon item. This coating boosts the quality of light transmission and provides better color consistency with your photos. It also reduces the amount of flare and glare that could affect your pictures. If you have a filter to attach to this 18-200mm AF-S f/3 lens, it's compatible with thread sizes of 72mm.|

Very Good Lens
The lens is on the heavy side, but on the other hand it feels sold and durable. While the focal length is solid what you get with this lens is an all in one fully capable lens able to do almost everything. I tested the newer version and didn't see much of a difference at all. I've used it for about two weeks now and while you can certainly spend about $1000 for for the best lens out there, this lens will do mostly the same work for a fraction of the cost. Highly recommend if you can find one in great shape.

Good, but not great.
I knew before buying this lens that it was not going to be the sharpest image quality but that it should, as per multiple reviews, provide a reasonably decent image throughout its zoom range, perhaps a little less sharp at the ends of the focal length. I purchased it as a general, walk-around, all purpose lens. Unfortunately, I am finding the results to be less than anticipated. It will produce a decent image, on tripod, with remote, at short focal lengths, say 70mm and under, but I'm having issues with hand held stability and the focus motor is loud and clunky. Yeah, it could be me, but I dont have the same issues with other nikkor lenses. Granted, I purchased a "like new" used lens and as much as I'd like to believe there were no issues prior to sale, I'm inclined to believe that the reason for the great price it was offered at, was due to these same issues. Whether these are inherant issues with the lens or whether it developed issues with an original owner, I really cant say at this time. It has however provided me with new knowledge and understanding of the benefits and shortcomings of these types of zoon lens.

Great lens for all around when you want to carry one lens.
This is a great lens and easy to use. It's a practical lens when you want to just carry one and not remove it from your camera. It will take any type of photo and a simple solution to multiple lenses.

Good travel lens. Focuses quickly.
The telephoto range was perfect for sight seeing. I could get good overall photos and then zoom in for better detail right away. It is also good in a room with people at different distances. Autofocus was quick and fussy. Pictures were sharp and clear.

Jack of all trade ... master of none ... still good ...
Excellent range, decent sharpness, fairly compact, not to expensive, all around good walk-about lens for Nikon DX cameras. Not crazy heavy, expensive, and large like 18-300mm, comparable to 16-85mm in terms of sharpness, gives up 2 degrees at the wide angle for longer reach - 85mm versus 200mm. Better build quality and comparable sharpness as newer 18-140mm zoom. Better than 3rd party all-in-one zooms ala Sigma or Tamron, less reach but beyond 200mm, they all look like crap.
