|The 3DS XL is a handheld video game system that delivers a portable gaming experience with iconic Nintendo characters. Play games featuring Mario, Link, Donkey Kong, and more. The 3DS console also supports Amiibo, which are toys-to-life figurines that can change your gameplay in many ways. The Black Edition units are black stand-alone consoles that flip open and closed. The Nintendo XL is a hinged device with a roomy 4.88-inch display screen, long battery life, and sturdy build. The battery life will vary per charge based on your screen brightness settings and how often you play games. Generally, it can last from three to five hours when playing Nintendo 3DS games and five to eight hours if you’re using it to play Nintendo DS games. This device also comes with parental controls so you can restrict 3D mode for children ages six and under. This handheld system also features faster processing power, which allows for quicker loading of apps and games. The physical retail games sold for the 3DS system are cartridges. Nintendo cards are very lightweight and measure about 3.5 centimeters by 3.3 centimeters. There’s a port for them at the back of the hardware. Just insert the cartridge until it clicks. With a wireless Internet connection, you can also connect to Nintendo’s digital storefront, which is called the Nintendo eShop, directly from your 3DS. This store lets you purchase software in digital rather than physical format. This unit does come with a 4GB SD card for storing your downloaded games. When you enable the Street Pass feature, your system can communicate with other Nintendo DS systems that you pass by and exchange information with them. A signature feature of the 3DS is its dual capacitive touchscreens. There’s even a built-in holder to hold the stylus when it isn’t needed. The physical controls are built in and located to each side of the screens. To charge the device, simply insert the charger into the unit and plug it into an electrical socket.|

Brings back memories of the good ole days when I was a wee lad and all I had was a gameboy color and played Pokemon all day. However, I this console is not up to par with the PS Vita, which has a lot better hardware/graphics for better price. I guess the main selling point of this console are the exclusive popular titles and the "3D" effect that hurts your eyes after a few minutes, but I cant help but feel it could have been better. I give it a 4/5 solely for the exclusive titles, if it weren't for pokemon, mario, legend of zelda just to name a few, this console would not sell for this price. Then I have to keep in mind that this console is aimed mostly for kids, where graphics/hardware does not really matter as much. Bummer but good business for Nintendo.

Works very well
Game cards work well. Screens are in perfect condition, no scratches. Buttons all work very well. 3D works. Stylus are too big for the slot, falls out. Not made for the new 3dsxl. Charger works but metal part has significant rust on the inside, not very happy about that. Will be replacing it. Sound is good, the slider for sound gets stuck too often and is a huge pain. Also there were a few very deep noticeable scratches on the back on the 3DS. Works great for now. Will be buying warranty.

It's worth it
When the original 3DS came out in cosmo black, years ago, with Ocarina of Time as one of the launch titles I had it right away and was thrilled. Flash forward to the release of the New 3DS XL. I was skeptical there would be much difference other than screen size. And I was wrong. It's everything you already know about the 3DS minus one pesky issue. The 3-D screen. In the past you would have had to hold it just so, and stand just so, and any movement of your hands and body threw it out of focus and you had a headache, wound up on disability and had to go through years of counselling. I exaggerate...more likely you just turned off the 3-D feature. The big selling point for the New 3DS XL is the Super 3-D screen that tracks your face and adjusts. It really works. Also, the system has more memory, faster processor and a much larger screen. System transfer is a bit time consuming but not difficult at all. Overall, a worthy upgrade!

If you want 3D, this is the one to get. Otherwise hold out for the new 2DS XL
Ostensibly I bought this as a birthday present for my daughter. But actually I wanted to relive some old memories too. The new 2DS XL being released in July was not good timing for being a present, so I thought a used 3DS XL would be a little cheaper, plus have 3D. Win win. It's a great little console. I played with the regular (non-XL) size too, but the screen is obviously smaller and the bezel is too annoying. No, this is the one to get, and it has a fairly advanced tracking tech so that the 3D effect follows your eyes around - unlike the previous generation of these handhelds. Putting Pilotwings Resort on in 3D is fantastic, a real joy, as the 3D makes it look like you're flying a cute model airplane. And Super Mario 3D Land just pops with colors and the 3D looks beautiful. It'll be a shame to hand it over to my daughter on her birthday! Cons: the hardware isn't very advanced technically, the screen resolution is poor for 2017. Well, it was poor for 2015. And probably before that. Pluses: the games! the 3D! the colors pop and the games are just charming (I am usually a hardened PS4 player of open-world shooters).

Great console and super fun game
The product is in great condition aside from a few barely noticeable scratches on the outside of the console. Controls work well and everything is in working order. As for the game, aside from there already being saved data on the cartridge, it works just fine and is a great reintroduction into the Pokemon games for a returning Pokemon fan like myself. The saved data was no big deal to get rid of after a quick online search and I was able to begin playing the game from the beginning quickly. Overall, great products for a good price.
