    A Dream for Aspiring Writers

I am not a fan of Stephen King's writing style (I love his content) but I could not put this book down. I was so eager to read how he came up with ideas, how much he writes at a time, and was fascinated with his life story. I am a fond lover of biographies and this delivered an A+ biography and an A+ confidence-boosting writing seminar.

  • Writers must read this.

This book is one of the most entertaining books on writing. You will laugh, think and realize just what it takes to be a writer. King's memoirs will give you a history of the person who has reached an amazing status in the literary world. A level that gives each of us a new goal to attain. While we will never be Stephen King, he does tell you honestly, perhaps even ruthlessly, what it takes to be a writer. While only about half the book tackles the issue of writing it is with the most valuable information you will ever get. If you want to be a writer don't just buy the book. Don't just read it and put it down. Devour the book and do what King tells you to do. Then you will be on the road to being a great writer.

  • King's very best book!

Tho I admire King's output and success, he has never been an author whose work I read often or carefully. "On Writing" frees the artist behind the formula to share his struggles, learned wisdom and craft openly and brilliantly. It is contagiously addictive and instructive as a primer for life and writing. I reread only the most intriguing books for pleasure, then later "to study their seams". This will take another pleasure read before I'll be able to settle into seam-studying. He's likeable, unitimidating and my new best book friend.

  • On Writing By Stephen King (2002) Paperback , Reprint

Stephen King is not my favorite author, but I do admit he is a good writer. I was so happy to get a copy of this book since I am in the process of writing my own. He related some experiences and some helpful ideas for the would be writer.. I could not relate to some of it since I have not read many of his books, but I did glean some ideas that will help me in the long run... I recommend this book to anyone interested in writing even if King is not your favorite....
