On Any Sunday
On Any Sunday , was a very memorable film , featuring Steve McQueen in the height of his film career . It was a film that explained to the rest of the world WHY motorcycle enthusiasts , were motorctcle enthusiasts .And revealed the little known ( at the time ) , fact that Steve McQueen was quite a motorcycle enthusiast . This trilogy , would make a NICE gift for the motorcycle enthusiasts in your family . Guarenteed to bring back some fond memories in the "more experienced" riders in your life . ( As it does for me ) . And give the younger riders in your family something to remember and build some new memories on . I fondly recall On Any Sunday as the film that my Grandpa went to the theatre and watched with me , when I was a young rider . And , now that he has been gone for 28 years , I STILL remember that trip to the movies ! Would be GREAT to give a gift that they`ll remember that long , huh ?
An epic and humoristic movie on motorcycle racing
I was oh so excited to finally get this wonderful movie about motorcycle racing and fun, and was even more happy to see the extra disc with a tribute to Steve mc Queen, one of my long time heroes in movies and racing. The artistic expression in this movie is strongly influenced by the time it is produced (1971). Some will mabye say that this is a drawback about the movie, with sound and picture quality less crisp than present productions, and with a kind of focus on humor not found in todays movies. Still this is one important reason I bought this movie, as I love the very 70`s soundtrack, long slo-mo scenes of graceful motrocycle riding and film quality of the day. Brings back lots of memories from my own childhood in the 70´s. The loose and casual atmosphere also make this a movie you can watch several times, like playing your favorite music for relaxation. The movie also contains a fair share of tech and shows bikes during service and what modifications were done, and I love that as an engine crazy mechanic and adds more credibility to the production. The end credits alone is worth the price of this DVD.
Great film, even for those not into motorcycles
Bruce Brown makes highly entertaining films and this is 1 of his top 2; the other being Endless Summer. Brown knows how to inform his audience while making them smile and there is a lot to smile about in this film. The various forms of racing and folks just having fun on bikes combine into an enjoyable visit to fun times; particularly interesting now, to look back at the guy wearing AMA #1, trucking his race bike, solo, in a van. Steve McQueen, who fronted the money for this movie, was a good friend of Brown and seeing him just enjoying his time with friends and bikes is part of the attraction. Everyone I've showed this video to loves it.
