I purchased this used and saved about $25 from the average price. Typically with electronics they either work or don't work, so I don't have any problem buying used. We have a brick home and my main office is in an addition on the back of the house, so there is a brick wall between the office and most of the house. Although I have a good quality router in the office, the signal is weak and unreliable at the far end of the house and in the garage. I wanted to use another computer, a laptop, and a wireless printer in my garage for shipping packages for a 2nd business, so I placed the range extender in our kitchen which is adjacent to the garage. Now I have a great signal throughout the entire home and in the garage. Installation was easy and I highly recommend this product.
Drops out frequently
This extender drops out & you have to unplug to reset - then it works again for awhile. This is the same problem I had with my old extender which is why I bought this one. The only positive is it's easy to set up .

Would not work
This based upon one unit only. Supplier sent promptly, but could not link to WiFi. Modem/Router has since been able to link up so so not think it is my wifi. Please view other reviews before rejecting this product. Could be a case of manufacturing defect. WGD
