Notes
Hailing from a small town in Maine, this petite redhead bursts on the scene with a passionately raw, yet tender voice, confidently emerging as one of the most exciting singer/songwriters of the burgeoning alternative, folk-rock world. Patty's self-produced debut album is a remarkable emotional journey, guided only by a simple acoustic guitar and the unique beauty of her voice. Sampler serviced to AAA radio.

    Undoubtedly authentic and very appealing.

Ms. Griffin's style and talent as a guitarist and songwriter are undoubtedly authentic and very appealing. She shares membership with cadre the likes of Rita Coolidge, Emmy Lou Harris, and of late, Jackson Browne and Marc Cohn. Very deep, personal and soulish. Like those primordial forests of her roots in Maine. The listening experience can border disappointment however, in a few songs that evidence of straying from those roots of authenticity in the vocal style that I decide for myself as truly her own.

  • Living With Ghosts - Griffin, Patty

I heard "You are not alone" on XM and googled Patty Griffin, found this cut on her first album. I listened to this cut several times before realizing what the song was about. Powerful lyrics, phrasing and inflection with an unusual guitar tuning capture the essence of her composition. But, the best part is the entire album is filled with remarkably poignant songs. I feel like I struck gold so of course I'm looking for more. She's Dylan, Stevie Nicks, Ricky Lee Jones, Bonnie Raitt, Damien Rice and Dave Matthews rolled into one and then lifted a little higher.

  • Patty Griffin, Living With Ghosts, well worth it

This CD has some "can't live without it songs", as well as a few "skip through it" songs. Overall, I say this CD is worth the money, as Patty's voice and lyrics come from a place magical and raw, honest and pure, easy to relate to. The title song, "Living With Ghosts", is one of my alltime favorite songs. It alone is worth buying the CD. If you like artists like Indigo Girls, Ani DiFranco, et c., you will surely enjoy this one!

  • Living with Ghosts CD Griffin, Patty

This is an excellent cd. Lovely voice. Perfect driving cd....great to "sing along with" also emotional and deep. I adore it and feel no collect is complete without it. Obviously leans more towards "girls music"(as in "Girls movie") Lyrics that hit home with that incredible ability to speak directly to the listener's heart and soul.

  • No jewel case.

Cd plays well, but it arrived without the jewel case.
