|The first game in Capcom's blockbuster survival-horror series designed with a real-time 3D polygonal engine, Resident Evil 4 is freed from the camera limitations and static backgrounds of past titles. Players guide Leon S. Kennedy, the lead protagonist in Resident Evil 2, in an adventure taking them deep within the Umbrella Corporation. The result is a battle for survival as players confront mutated biological experiments, zombies, and other creatures of suspicious origin. Leon comes equipped with a revolver but will still be able to find various other weapons along the way. Environments include rain-soaked alleyways, decrepit sewers, and castle-like structures. Hiroshi Shibata, who previously worked on Resident Evil 3, makes his directorial debut in this GameCube-exclusive release, with Hiroyuki Kobayashi (Dino Crisis 2, Devil May Cry) serving as producer.|

Great game for the collection!
If you're an old school gamer like me who enjoys playing the classics, this is a game I would recommend for the collection. I've played and beat most of the resident evil games minus this one, Zero and Resident Evil 5. This game is great because it is when they started to incorporate the new controls and a knife that actually functions well. Once you beat this game you can unlock hard mode which is a great challenge. I guarantee you will enjoy playing this game for hours.

Resident Evil done right
It only took Capcom what? About 15-20 installments of Resident Evil before they finally got the damn controls right? Yeah, that's about right. Resident Evil 4 is the story of Leon Kennedy trying to rescue the Presidents daughter from a group of deranged cultists known as Los Illuminados. The story however really isn't nearly as important as the gameplay aspect. Gameplay is smooth, fun, and the game is scary as heck. I know that sounds silly, so try imaginingn being out on a lake in the middle of nowhere then a giant sea monster roughly the size of Rhode Island pops out of the water and tries to devour you. You're just now arriving in the ballpark of how scary this game is. That's not to say the game doesn't have its cheesy moments. The dialogue can be silly. I mean it's Resident Evil! This is the same series that gave us famous lines such as "Jill, here's a lockpick, it should help you the master of unlocking," and "You were almost a Jill sandwich!". Did I also mention there's a few times in this game where you're threatened by maniacs that wield chainsaws that can quite obviously kill you in just one hit? This is a pretty gruesome scene btw. If you're not careful, you can literally lose your head. What is also good about Resident Evil 4 is the targeting system. It's always fun to blow the heads off of all the evil not-zombies. For the Wii version of the game you can choose either the classic controller or the Wiimote and Nunchuk setup. The Wii also has a lot of extra unlockable content that's not in the Gamecube version. Throughout the game as you get more money you can buy and upgrade weapons you purchase from the merchant who appears frequently. Resident Evil 4 isn't terribly hard but that doesn't mean you don't have to watch your back. Enemies will sneak up from behind you constantly, and you need to watch your life bar in this game. If you get enough of the right herbs and mix them you can increase your max health. There are many real-time events where you can die if you don't follow the on-screen button prompts. The one part of the game where you take control of Ashley can be frustrating, but at least you only have to worry about 2 enemies, and Ashley has a unique way of taking them down... in other words, throwing flaming oil lamps at them. Who says women can't take care of themselves? Resident Evil 4 is a fun experience. It's definitely not for children though. It does contain blood, gore, and some strong language here and there. It doesn't require the insane amount of ridiculous backtracking like in the original games, and the camera system is much better than it was in the previous games too.
Resident Evil 4 (Review)
I received this game on Christmas from my younger brother where he purchased it for $35 dollars at eb games used. I opened the game and started to play and was blown away. I was first blown away by the amazing graphics and detail of the game. Some other things that were great about the game were the storyline. The story of this game was amazing. It had good voice actors good story and good action. Another cool thing about this game is the zombies. The zombies in this game was the thing I liked best about the game. Unlike other resident evil games in RE4 zombies can shoot at you with bow guns and machine guns. Other zombies have chainsaws, axes, dynamite, knives dynamite and axes can be thrown at you. The zombies can also weave in and out to avoid getting shot by you and are a lot faster than in other resident evil games. Another cool feature in this game is the view that you play in. Instead of playing in the 3rd person view like all oft the resident evil games you play in a third person view looking over the main chracter Leons shoulder which makes the game a lot of fun while shooting. The game includes some new weapons with an array of many guns to choose from. You can also upgrade these guns to become more powerful. This game also includes some very tough puzzles you must solve and adds some fun strategy to the game. This game also takes a very long time to complete I have just recently completed this game and it took me 26 hours to complete the longest game that I have ever played. There are also cool bonus features in this game. A little mini game called project ada and another minigame called the mercanaries which has appeared in previous resident evil games. There although a few things that I dislike about this game. One is some of the puzzles, some puzzles are very hard to figure out and the game gives u no clues on how to solve them. Another thing is not having the ability to run when u shoot you must stand still while shooting. The last problem that I have with the game is the feeling of repetition. The feeling of repetition occurs because in every area that you enter the zombies seem to do the same thing and you get to learn exactly what they are going to do although they look different they all do mostly the same thing. In conclusion I belive that this game is worth 30-40 dollars and is a must buy for anyone into scary games. If you havent played any of the other resident evil games you must try this one it is the best of them all by far.
It’s an awesome game to have in your GameCube classic collection. They’ve remade this game countless times it’s funny to think this was once a GameCube exclusive. I bought this one hoping to have the original box it came in from looking through the pictures. Turns out this has players choice all over it. It’s still a great game but it sucks when you are looking at your collection cases and that stands out. Besides that if you’ve never played this game I’d highly suggest it.

Arguably the best of the series
One of my personal favorites. Resident Evil 4 is an awesome game! The iconic zombie survival /shooter /puzzle game is brought to life on the Nintendo GameCube. Lots of thrills and cool unlockable items. Upgrades help put these infected creeps in the ground faster and the storyline is awesome. 1 player so I hope you're not afraid of the dark .....
