A misfit macaw named Blu (voice of Jesse Eisenberg) heads to Rio de Janeiro, embarks on a magnificent journey, and makes some loyal new friends in this animated adventure for the entire family. Domesticated from the time he was just a hatchling, Blu traded a life in the clouds for a contented existence in Moose Lake with his doting owner, Linda (Leslie Mann). They live under the impression that Blu is the last of his kind, but upon receiving word that a female macaw named Jewel (Anne Hathaway) has been discovered in Rio de Janeiro, Linda and Blu set their sights on South America on a mission to replenish the species. Shortly after their arrival in the Brazilian capitol, however, the two rare birds fall victim to a gang of greedy animal smugglers intent on making a mint by selling Blu and Jewel to the highest bidder. But the headstrong Jewel isn't about to be locked in a cage and put on display, so when the opportunity arises she stages a daring escape with the help of some wisecracking local birds, and takes her new friend Blu along for the ride. With the bumbling birdnappers fast closing in, Blu realizes that his only hope for making a clean getaway and reuniting with Linda is to finally summon the courage he needs to take flight. RIO also features the voices of Tracy Morgan, Jamie Foxx, George Lopez, and will.i.am. | |

Rio presents a flavorful, family-friendly adventure @ Rio de Janeiro Brazil
Colorful characters, vibrant animation and a lively beat come together to put Rio in a rare category of movie gems: G-rated films that the whole family can appreciate and enjoy. While the storyline is fun and the voice acting is fabulous, those are not the things that make Rio stand out in this day and age of animation glory. Nope, Rio's brilliance comes from the exotic locale. The spice and flavor of the Marvelous City, Rio de Janeiro, brings this festive flick to life and adds a rich cultural backdrop that will grab the interest of moviegoers of all ages. The film is full of energy and life, and has a great theme about living to the fullest. I came away wanting to learn to Samba and try hang gliding off of Pedra Bonita Mountain. Rio contains a few mild rude words like "idiot," "butt," and "shut up." Also, there are a few instances of mild sexual innuendo (mostly to do with birds). Of course, the Carnival costumes are skimpy, but nothing compared to the ones you see in pictures of the real thing. Some perilous scenes may frighten very young children. See the "content overview" below for more detailed explanations of content.
Hilarious and great for adults and children. All around a great movie.
I have a three year old and a two year old, thus my husband and I do not get out much and have very little free time that is not family time. We LOVED this movie, watched it several times with our girls who were rivited to the screen and laughed quite a bit, and finally ordered the dvd. It is one of the great new films that has a lot of humor and appeals to both our small children and my husband and I. It is very child appropriate, bright and has a good pace, kept all of us fully entertained. Super cute. Will watch again many times with my children and husband.
¡Maravillosamente Divertida y excepcional!
Gracias
Alright
Says it's a 3 disc set there were only 2 disc in the case and no digital copy wish the description was more accurate. I understand some used movies may no longer have the digital copies But would of liked to known that. I usually put the codes in for my son so he can watch movies on my phone on our long trips back and forth to the children's hospital

Excellent movie for all ages.
I recommend this movie to both children & grown ups. I love everything about it. The music is wonderful. The characters are endearing & funny. The artwork is so good you almost forget that these aren't real birds. I have watched it several times & I don't get tired of it. It's the best animated picture I've seen ever, except for Rio 2 which is also an excellent movie.
