  • Scarface!

I have recently seen scarface all the way through and quite honestly its amazing. It was the most intense, immersive, and reaslistic mobster movie i have ever seen. The Godfather was a great movie, but i just think scarface is much better, because its god more action scenes, but its main downfall is that I didnt get the same sense of noir that i got in the godfather. Scarface is a spectacular picture but the godfather is no doubt the superior movie, but i just personally think scarface is my favorite mobster movie. The plot is easy to follow and has its own sense of dark noir, but not the noir i felt while watching the Godfather. Tony montana is a cuban immigrant who was given a rough time, and instead of living the american dream like most people want him to, he turns to a life of crime ...

  • Chronicles the rise and fall of Cuban Tony Montana

Directed by Brian De Palma. Written by Oliver Stone. Starring Al Pacino. An initial "X" rating due to its depicted violence. It wasn't easy, but the efforts of all those involved--from the screenplay, directing, to the superb acting, played a role in making this film in a classic long after its theatrical release. This remake of the 1932 Howard Hawks film, chronicles the rise and fall of Cuban political refugee Antonio "Tony" Montana as he takes the Miami cocaine trade by storm. In the end, Montana loses everything (wife, sister, best friend, and ultimately his own life) as he is consumed not only with his greed but supply of drugs as well.

  • A Classic.

Most people are etiher totally enveloped by the Scarface story or they just aren't really feeling it. Tony Montana's meteoric rise to fame and even faster downfall are also a must-see for any hiphop fans, as any rap album released in the 90s has a reference or a direct line from this movie. Rap music aside, Scarface is also a great opportunity to see Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeiffer in earlier stages of their careers--this movie actually flopped when it was released in 1983 and was nominated for a Razzie (awards for bad movies). At its core, Scarface is the story of one man's burning ambition to be successful at any expense, but his values that helped built his empire eventually did him in to bring its downfall--as he refused to kill a man because it meant taking out his ...

  • Cult Classic! A must have.

"Scarface" is one of the greatest of all mob movies. It's an epic crime drama done with style and care. Brian DePalma presents a film that ignites the screen with a great screenplay by Oliver Stone and an amazing performance by Al Pacino. Unlike "The Godfather," which was more about family and relationships between father and son, "Scarface" is an exhilarating and intriguing journey into Miami's mob underworld, seen through the eyes of Tony Montana, a Cuban refugee with some of the greatest lines in movie history. Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeiffer are great together and some big name actors got there start from this movie. Al Pacino is such a great mob star movie actor and does a great job of playing his character.
