4TB drive displays 3.63TB of usable space formatted under NTFS. Small, compact drive that is powered only via the USB cable which is nice. Did a write / read test with CrystalDiskMark via a USB 2.0 port and speed was just over 30 MB/Sec read and 28 MB/Sec write which is ok with me for a storage drive. Yes I would buy this drive again and recommend it others for use as a storage drive.

Very slow dumping/reading/writing files.
Bought this hard drive and formatted it as per usual. Windows 10 recognized it right away out of the box - no problems with Windows. First set of files I transferred was about 2gb. It took 45 mins. Started googling potential issues and by browser was filled with other people with the exact same problem. Had to edit my registry, buffer settings, device manager and I can't remember what else and even still... I had to cap my transfer speeds as they were overflowing the read/write capabilities of the drive and causing it to flood out at 100%. Guess you get what you pay for. It's a nice little compact drive, is powered by the USB (my old Seagate had a power adaptor) so it's easier to transport and neater when connected - it's just the speed that I didn't care about it. To each their own.

compact design , plenty of storage
I bought two (2) of these to use for backing up videos and movies , also for use with a western digital live media player. so far they work great . they are replacing 3.5 inch external drives and are much quieter . only had them set up for a couple weeks now , so ... time will tell

small yet big
It is difficult to say much about this device and present as I just got it. It is a hard drive with lots of space and easy to use for backing up. The key to success will be if I drop it and it still works. I will let you know.
