About this product

Product Information

Battle hundreds of enemies on an assortment of 16th-century battlefields with this installment in Capcom's Basara series, previously known as Devil Kings in the U.S. Over a dozen playable samurai warriors are included, each offering a distinct fighting style with upgradeable weapons and fast-paced combos. Each hero will also be able to master powerful abilities such as "hero time" and the "Basara arts" to more easily defeat multiple enemies at once. Select the "Heroes' Story" mode to follow a character-specific narrative, which changes based on the strategic decisions you make on the battlefield, or team up with a friend for cooperative action offline. As you progress through the game, you'll confront massive weapons such as the Death Carriage and the Rising Sun, where you'll need to quickly attack each device's weak points or risk certain death.

  • awesome ..awesomness !!!

well its school holiday season again and the younger family members are keen gamers..no real blockbuster games are out until the end of the year ( to catch the supposed christmas rush ) and my brood were moaning about one of their favourite games on playstation 2 and why could'nt it be remade for the ps3 ?( in hd )..so the internet is a wonderful medium ..i looked up the game called " DEVIL KINGS "and noted that a sequel was made for the ps3 in japan ..now all ps3's are region free.. but to buy a japanese game is a big risk ..IT WILL PLAY ..but all in japanese !!..so i tracked down an american version and since the game was technically 6 months old it was heavily discounted .The official UK ps3 magazine had a review of the game in the december 2010 issue and gave it ...

  • First PS3 game and what a first game it is

I'v been a fan of the Sengoku Basara ever since the release of Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes. Unfortunately, that game was never released but I watched gameplays for the Japanese game. And I was excited that this game is released to the States. When I got the game, the graphics are crazy, and detailed. A large cast of characters to play as and while you play, you unlock new characters. Of course, this game is hack-and-slash genre, but then again Devil May Cry is mostly a hack and slash game. Been playing for a few days and I enjoyed the game very much. A fresh genre for me to try besides fighting and role playing genre games.

  • A Hack N Slash with style!!!

If you're a fan of Samurai Warriors then you'll definitely want this one!!! I just got it so I'm sure I'm scratching the surface but I'm all ready hooked!!! Has a lot of of your fav characters from Samurai Warriors with a SERIOUS character overhaul for everyone (All improvements IMO) the battle systems is insane and within no time you'll pull off 1000 (yes, thousand) hit combos with serious ease. The battle system is complex, but nowhere near difficult - very fluid and the game looks GREAT. Think "Samurai Warriors meets Devil May Cry" you'll have it in a nutshell - even the voice acting is top notch (If you're an Anime fan, you'll recognize more than a few voices) DW7 does come out in March but if it doesn't compare to this, forget it!!!

  • hack & slash by the thousands

Capcom's Sengoku Basara series doesn't have quite the same level of name recognition for Western audiences as Koei's Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors games, but if you've spent any time with Koei's games, Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes will immediately bring them to mind. Samurai Heroes is all about making you an incredibly powerful warrior and giving you hundreds of enemy soldiers to mow down. Alas, this mindless hack-and-slash action quickly grows tiresome, and you'll find yourself longing for more substantial and rewarding gameplay long before you succeed in uniting or conquering 16th-century Japan.
