Keeping a Man’s Tools Alive
My wife’s grandfather passed away a few years ago and they just recently cleaned out her grandmothers house since she’s in a nursing home. None of the family members wanted any of the tools or saws, so I asked if I could have them. I “inherited” a black and decker radial arm saw from 1970 and a black and decker bandsaw. The radial arm saw works like it’s 1970, but the bandsaw wouldn’t run. I took it apart and noticed the belts were torn. I’m so happy I was able to find replacement belts and keep his memory alive in our home. Nice material, but too narrow for application
Material seems to be of good quality. instructions on installation were good, but water temp needs to be rather hot to give the needed stretch in the bands. The reason for only three stars is the width of the material was the absolute minimum that would work. the bands provided were < 50% of the drive wheel width. This makes it hard to get the blade to ride correctly because the tire is only slightly wider than the blade. ****** Folllow up review **** after 5 months of intermittent use two of the three bands sent to me have failed at the seam.Material seems to be of good quality. instructions on installation were good, but water temp needs to be rather hot to give the needed stretch in the bands.
