This kit was priced fairly well. It does come with parts that may not fit your vehicle. It does help to tight up the tailgate hinges though and is easy to install. Make sure you use a heavy towel or blanket to protect your tailgate when removing it from its hinges.

Does the job
In my case , a 1998 Ranger, the old rubber parts had hardened and deteriorated. This kit is plastic and will never last 20 years. I did not need the rectangular pieces, as the Ranger has only one rectangular mount and it is sized to fit the slotted round socket without any additional bushing.

99 ranger.I broke one of the two prongs trying to get it in the hole.
I think it will still work. I have a 99 ranger I was trying to put those two prongs in the hole on the rectangular side ( right)it wouldn't fit i pushed them and one of them broke. I put the hatch door on it seem like it's nice and tight, meaning my door won't pop open. Anyone else have that same issue?

no good parts
it did not fit my F-150 2005 the round piece with a slit in it took him and broke off on it when the mechanic try to put in my tailgate other pieces just didn't fit at all don't waste your money it's made-in-china that's why it's cheaply made

The rectangle side does not fit 2000 Ford F3 50
I only needed the square side so that is all I tried and it does not fit a Ford F3 50 even if you try to use a block of wood and get it to stretch it ends up splitting out . But not to mention you have to start it on one side and really pound it so I pretty much figured it would split and it did I had to hit harder than most people would ever try but I figured well it’s that or nothing because it was not even close to starting but I was hoping the plastic would stretch but it would not it’s far to hard So if it’s the rectangle side you need do not waste your money if it’s the round side which mine is fine others say that fits
