Only for fans
This movie takes me back and has become a guilty pleasure. It’s post apocalyptic setting is derivative of the 80’s apocalypse boom along mad max and others. It follows a group that play a violent sport. No big story line. I bought it only for nostalgic reasons. Still enjoy it today.

The Blood of Heroes (2003, DVD) Review
I bought this movie for my husband as a gift. When he received the movie, it came properly packaged with a sealed label on the DVD box (like you would buy at any store that sells brand new movies). My husband anxiously put it in the DVD player to watch. When he opened the movie box, he noticed that the DVD itself appeared to have a computer generated label stuck to the top of it with the name of the movie, etc. My husband played the movie and it was of very poor quality. The picture was very dark - so dark that you couldn't make out a clear picture and the sound was of poor quality as well. The volume was turned up nearly all the way on the TV and the sound quality of the movie was still muffled. The movie would go from normal to very dark as would the sound - from very quiet ... Fun movie.
This movie is good cheesy fun. The quality isn't the greatest though, but if you are a fan than it is worth it.

A great action movie!
Great action movie! No CGI, no huge explosions, car chases or shoot outs, just a good story line and lots of physical action! A sport set in the future where the players really take a beating. The small time team led by Rutger Hauer goes on to take on the best of the best in a game where no challenger has ever come close to beating the pro team. Delroy Lindo, Vincent D'Onofrio and Joan Chen also star in a really great action movie. There is some language, blood and a lot of physical violence, so take note of the R rating if watching with kids.Great action movie!
