  • Defiant child?

Easy reading for confused and exhaunted parents struggling to understand their defiant, unrulely and often arrogant child! Gives genuine reasons into their childs behaviour and cultivates sympathetic responses within the adult which helps to diffuse the often billigerent temperament of the child. Realising adult reaction can be of paramount importance to restoring harmony, hope and better relations.

  • The Explosive Child

My son has ADHD and this book was recommended by his psychologist as a way for us to learn a problem solving technique for our family but also to help him learn a new way of working on his own frustration. It is an excellent resource. You don't have to have an "explosive" child in order for this book to be a great guide. My son is fairly mild mannered and my daughter even more so--but this book opened our eyes to how much MORE peaceful our family life could be. There are some other helpful tools found on the website of this book www.explosivechild.com that were helpful to share with the school community and the extended family so everyone learned CPS "collaborative problem solving". The whole family uses it. She also recommended "1,2,3, Magic" which was of less benefit to us, and "10 ...

  • Fantastic Book

For a child with Sensory Processing Disorder this book has been very helpful in giving insight & many good techniques in handling a child of this nature, which can be very difficult. It was highly recommended by a therapist and is well worth reading.

  • Explosive child describes the content and must read.

The subject of this book helped me understand my grand daughter and every thing in it proves we all can misunderstand children. Parents are good and misunderstood because the child is misunderstood. Good read would suggest buying it from this writer Ross Greene.

  • Worth trying anything that may work.

The book is easy reading and parents of Explosive children are always looking for a new option. The plan B step explained does seem to be working, but it takes an enormous amount of time. It also makes me feel like a wishy washy parent, always letting the child be in charge. There are times when I need to say, "NO, This is how we are going to do it".
