Designed especially to please those players whose Sims are a cut above the crowd, this expansion pack hand-delivers a lifestyle of wealth and fame to Maxis' best-selling PC people simulator. For the first time, players can follow their Sims to work as they pursue careers as Rock Stars, Movie Stars, or Supermodels in the new, customizable Studio Town area. Studio Town is full of movie lots, recording facilities, and fashion halls, as well as friendly agents who will lead the way to stardom -- for a nominal, industry-standard percentage, no doubt. It's not always what you know as much as who you know, so time spent in Studio Town schmoozing industry insiders and fellow wannabes is well spent.
In addition to the ratings for relationships and skills, players can now track the "fame score" ratings of their characters. Sims now have a five-star meter that fills, half a star at a time, as they gain publicity and popularity among the masses. Studio Town is the place for superstars to be seen, and Sims can increase their star ratings with good routines there. While on stage or in the recording studio, the goal is to give the NPC directors the kinds of performances they want. Players can directly affect their characters' routines. They can choose the genre of music to be recorded in the studio, for example, and decide on the singing style for each part of a song.
Success in the entertainment industry is the ticket to it all: money, fame, friends -- as well as gaping groupies, persistent paparazzi, and perhaps even a star-struck stalker or two. For those Sims who might rather live the life of a celebrity without actually becoming one, The Sims: Superstar adds dozens of new objects that can be purchased for use in any home that can afford them. How about a state-of-the-art satellite dish that adds premium TV channels, or a fully operational skydiving simulator? Opulent new furniture and artwork selections are available, so spoiled Sims can "flaunt it" to anyone who might stop by for a visit. A new domestic staff is available to manage mundane chores, so that talented (or at least affluent) Sims might answer a higher calling.

The Sims: Superstar Expansion Pack
With the release of Sims 2 and with all the Original Sims Game and Expansions being bundles together for sale, Ebay is one of the last place you can aquire the individual expansion packs. Superstar allows a player to take your Sims into the world of Movies, Music, and High Fashion. Sims can choose a life of fame and luxury over the drudgery of a daily job. Of course, it takes some patience and luck to get enough "Star Power" to really be a celebrity in Sim-land. There are many new items--including solid gold toilets--which help players to really get that Hollywood Sim feeling going. The main drawback with this expansion is the time it takes to get a Sim to "Star-dom." Also there will be some significant time lag for players with older computers. All-in-all, another great expansion from Maxis/EA Games with plenty of places to explore, new items to use, and new iteractions to try between your Sims. A must have for the hardcore Sim fanatic! So beware the "Obsessed Fan" and enjoy!!!
Best game I've played. Just keeps me coming back.
This is the very first PC game I played as a teen. I love being able to build my characters and houses from scratch. Though it does not 100% depict reality, I love the fact that they are able to switch careers easily as long as they worked hard and studied hard. Relationships are easy to maintain as long as effort is put into it. I am able to build the houses and decorate them to my liking. Only complaint I have is there are insufficient decorations, roof patterns and wallpapers design.
Loads of great fun.
The first collection of Sims games are loads of fun. You can go on the internet and download faces, clothes, objects and designs. There are celebrity faces available. There are decoractions and entire home designs available to download to your game. It took me a little while to get the hang of the game. I love designing houses and decorating them from the wallpaper to the folage. Each expansion set allows you to do more. There are more faces, clothes and objects with each set.
The Sims: Superstar (PC Games)
The Sims Superstar is an expansion pack to the original Sims game. This means that you have to already have the Sims installed in your computer, and the addition of Superstar will give your sims more options of things to do, objects, and clothing. Superstar is one of the more favored expansions according to Sims fans. With Superstar, your character can now seek fame, glamour and fortune, but watch out for some of the negative aspect of fame such as obsessed fans!
Super game, lots of things to do, new items, new goals, etc. There are not as many features as Makin' Magic, but that's to be expected as it is a predecessor. Lovely new architectural features like windows, flooring, and wallpaper; new furniture is limited. Studio Town is the best feature of the game.
