A delicate camera you'll fear breaking...
Seems to be a well-working camera with good crisp pictures that was easy enough to figure out how to use. However the design leaves a lot to be desired. This feels like a very delicate camera that might break if manipulated the wrong way - to wit, a small not entirely essential part (the USB cable cover) broke immediately as I was trying to remove it. Putting in the camera battery and the SD card I have on hand was an adventure for this very reason. It took several times trying to figure out whether I had the SD card loaded correctly. Then a lot of the controls are small on the back of the camera (specifically the "ring" button on the bottom right), which make them hard to positively press and again makes you wonder as you try to get the options without doing something to break the camera. Notably, a suitable case is not present, which will become a major concern for storing it once you see this camera and use it a while. Overall, given the hour I've played with this so far, I feel like I will be happy with this camera - as long as it lasts. I definitely hope it will.

Awesome Camera For the price
I bought this camera here on ebay for a really good price. The camera is absolutely awesome. The only bad I can say is it had no internal memory and you have to buy a sd card to switch this over to HD and also to record any video. So I had to drive to Walmart for the SD card before I was able to use the camera. I was mad about that becouse gas is way too much money. I just don't know why they dont just add memory to the cams. Or at least include the sd card in the package with the camera. I would think that these camera companys make enough money to at least make the cam have some memory. Instead you gotta go out and buy a sd card before the item acually works. Good quality though once you do get the sd card.
Don't leave the store before trying it. This one was awful.
I've owned about 3 or 4 of these. this one did not work out of the package. Thankfully the vendor was very gracious and refunded my money. The battery door hinge had no spring on it and even with batteries, it would not power on so it would not take pictues. Unfortunately two of my other Vivitars were attractive choices for my dogs to decide that they were toys and subsequently destroyed them. However, trying to figure out how to get the flash to work is the most confusing process I have ever seen. If you are looking for a good and inexpensive point and shot, I'd take a look at the Vivitar, but take it out of the package and make sure it works before you leave the store.
