About this product

Product Information

Teenage geeks Gary (Anthony Michael Hall) and Wyatt (Ilan Mitchell-Smith) are sick of being ignored by girls, abused by cool guys, and forced to spend their weekend nights watching nerdy old sci-fi movies. Left alone for the weekend, they use Wyatt's computer to create Lisa (Kelly LeBrock), a stunningly beautiful woman with a body that stops traffic, a heart of gold, and a genius IQ. The boys embark on an adventure with their creation, going to bars, driving Ferraris, throwing a killer party, and keeping Wyatt's psychotic older brother, Chet (Bill Paxton), in check. But in the end, they learn that wearing cool clothes, hanging out with cool kids, and being popular might not solve all their problems. Written and directed by the king of teen flicks, John Hughes, this film was released after SIXTEEN CANDLES and in the same year as THE BREAKFAST CLUB. Like many of his films, Hughes's WEIRD SCIENCE is set in fictional Shermer, Illinois. A young Robert Downey (sans the "Jr.") appears as Ian, a cool kid who takes pleasure in tormenting Gary and Wyatt.

    John Hughes classic!!

I bought this in honor of the late Bill Paxton; this is one of his earlier films. It is pretty silly but entertaining and I highly recommend watching at least once.

  • Weird Science (DVD, 2003)

This is an old kids movie from back in the mid 1980's. Two really hapless nerds Gary (Anthony Michael Hall) and Wyatt (IIan Mitchell-Smith), learn the ins and outs of being popular after using a computer to create the ultimate woman, Kelly Le Brock, who helps them find their inner coolness. She is mature an beautiful, and wild and fun! Now, when left at home alone for the weekend, Gary and Wyatt have done it! Party time! Now with Lisa (Kelly Le Brock) at their sides, all of the cool guys and girls have noticed them. Lisa has conjured up really cool cars too, like a Porsche and a Ferrari. Wyatt's older brother, Chet, is a real ass to Wyatt, and Lisa takes care of him too. After this weekend, these two are "super cool". This is a cute movie and is pretty funny.

  • Really Cool Package of Awesomeness

First thing is that I have always liked John Hughes movies, which is why I decided to watch this movie when I was a young girl. I have always been into comedy and sci fi and I love the fact that this is a wonderful blend of both genres. I can honestly say that there isn't anything about this movie that I dislike. I mean, it even has one of the guys that plays one of the mutants in my favorite horror movie The Hills Have Eyes (the original, not the newer version) as one of the mutant bikers at the party scene! That's freakin' awesome!! So it's kind of a no-brainer as to why I would buy it, really.
