This is an excellent tri-pod! Very heavy duty compared to other tri-pods. Extremely stable and steady. It's a touch heavier than the ultra light weight tri-pods that end up being way too weak to hold any weight or keep it still. This is simply an excellent product at an unheard of price!

    Amazing tripod for the price

This is a fantastic tripod. It is fully featured, stable, lightweight, and well built. The tripod has features that you would only typically find on tripods that cost twice as much. The locking collars all lock tightly with no slippage. The heads features all function well, the tension dial functions very well for my set up. Everything locks tight and hold steady.

  • Top critical review

    Adequate

The tripod is sturdy for light duty use. The ball head is not secure enough for a Nikon D200 with 105 mm macro lens. One leg unscrews for monopod use but is too short even with the ball head for a 6 foot tall person to comfortably use. A far sturdier ball head is needed for telephoto use.

  • Sturdy for entry level DSLR and telephoto lens. Good value

Tripod is sturdy. I have 8.5 lb binoculars and it holds it in place without wobbling. I am used to a hand lever to move the camera mount. The mount is moved by moving the camera, but then if the friction is too tight I need to take my hands off the camera to adjust the friction knobs. I need to spend more time with it to get more comfortable. It definitely was an upgrade to my previous tripods and the cost wasn't prohibitive. The legs lock quite snuggly. My old tripods had "Flip Locks" that break.

  • The little tripod that could(maybe)

So I've used this tripod a little in some rougher terrain just to get the best feel of it. Shooting landscape photography with it, I wanted something light to carry around but wanted it to be steady. I am not the biggest fan of the locking design for the legs but so far have not had any slippage with my camera attached. The bottom(thinnest) legs are extremely wobbly and would recommend weighting the tripod or not using them. The monopod is only about 4' tall so actually using it is almost impossible without resting on something like a step or rock in front of you. Lastly, the tightening mechanism for the ball head shifts the ball head when it's tightened so I always have to have the camera angled to the side a little so when it's tight it's level. Makes getting set up quickly pretty much ...

  • A very good great for the average photographer.....

This tripod is excellent for a medium weight camera and lens. It is a little unstable with a large heavier telephoto len. However the manufacturer does make clams of heavy duty. It is a ideal tripod for everyday situations.
