  • Not the Defrost Heater or Thermostat. Not the Board. It could only be the Thermister.

As an old (very GREAT) video explains, "There are 4 things that will cost Defrost Problems with post 2002 GE Refrigerators. (1)Freezer Thermistor(2)Heater(3)Heater Thermostat or (4)the Main Board. UTUBE VIDEO shawnryan111 GE Electronic Refrigerator Defrost Problem He gives instructions on how to test with a multimeter all of these points at the main board without removing any of the parts. I replaced everything but the Thermister and my Fridge still didn't work. I ordered a multimeter on ebay for under $7 delivered and tested the Freezer Thermistor (i.e., temperature measuring resister). Sure enough, there was only 2K resistance compared to 15k-25k normal. I bought this Freezer Thermister for $9 delivered, put it in, put the back defrost drain hose into a bottle and say the bottle get water into it (meaning from the defrost heater action) after about a week of melting the ice on the evaporator with a hair dryer and putting the Freezer Thermistor in. Now, I need to sell my extra heater, heater thermostat and main board to someone who needs them...I didn't. BTW: This same repairman (bless his pure soul) has a video that tells you how to check all Thermistors (food and freezer compartments) in his video: How To Check A Thermistor On GE Refrigerators

  • Fixed the bugger right up.

This is pretty convenient little kit -- if you got shafted like me; you probably have a lemon GE Refrigerator. Since I didn't catch you in time to recommend a different brand; you're stuck with an inferior piece of junk that you probably paid a premium for. If your refrigerator seems to get over-frosted OR your refrigerator is getting warm (yet the compressor works..) -- buy this and crimp them on. It's a 15 minute job (less if you don't have a 4-year turkey in the freezer..) If this doesn't work, you're likely going to be back on E-Bay for a new controller board. Those fail too. Tell your friends to not buy a GE 'Fridge if you like 'em. Or recommend a GE if you don't.

  • Refrigerator temp sensor

Correct product, easy paying with PayPal and no shipping charges. Took a little longer to arrive but tropical storm Cindy was causing severe weather across southeatern US.

  • Great radiator without the cost

Cheap, reliable and lowest price found. Just installed, let see how long it will last. You know what they say, “you paid what you get”. I took a chance on this one because my car is old. If lasted three years, I am good.

  • DIYs should stay with OEM

After install I had to put the old thermisters back as the refrigerator went into infinite defrost cycle. Although the product is well made but little reading diversion from standard could change the outcome. In my case, the mother board decides what to do with the inputs from sensors. I am not a professional, and therefore I wished I should have used the OEM parts, to eliminate any doubts.

  • it is right on the money in "ohms values"

it is right on the money in "ohms values" from warm to cool to freezing temp. ! I bench tested it in the fridge and freezer with an ohmmeter outside wires to sensor laying inside both section. Will order more of these due to budget constraint.

  • Refrigerator Fixed

I needed this part to regulate the defrost cycle and it was easy to install. The part worked, came in the mail ahead of schedule and I would buy from these folks again.

  • This is not new but used

This is not a new thermistor. I am a technician myself and have bought these many times the wiring on the new ones are a lot longer and it is not in the correct package and show signs of usage
