Remote starter install on 08 Jeep Patriot
Product was of good quality but here is my experience with installing an 08 Jeep Patriot. Out of the package did the update and went smoothly. Installed but wouldn’t flash to set remote. Had to connect the yellow and purple wires to the 20 pin connector. It was was in the instructions to do this but with so many instructions it was hard to decipher. Fortunately for me someone else had already made the mistakes I made and I google searched and a thread came up, which made it easy overcome and install. Then it wouldn’t work as far as starting the car but i continued with that thread and they also had that problem so I had to disconnect and Reflash to set 3x start option. After that it worked great. Only other issue I had was when unplugging the 4 pin connector the plug base came off with the plug. I was able to split the module case and reattach the plug socket to the circuit board and all worked. Be cautious when unplugging the connectors should you have to. Good value for a remote starter just plan it out before jumping in.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Nice remote starter, but must have some basic wiring capability
Nice inexpensive remote starter. Put this in son's 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It is not 'plug and play'. You need to tap the T harness into the 5 pin connector going to the key switch and splice a few wires together. Not terribly hard, but suggest you have some knowledge of wiring and splicing wires. Used T tap connectors so i did not have to cut any of the OEM wiring harness. Once installed, the unit worked great.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Awesome & it would be a much easier installation if they were a little less confusing! I followed the instructions to the T & word for word, did everything they told me to do, but it didn’t want to start! The instructions told me to cut a Yellow with Red wire & re-route it to the ignition harness of My 2005 Dodge Magnum RT, which I did, but it still didn’t want to start. So did some research & watched some video’s on you tube & every all the video’s that I watched not one of the video’s cut the Yellow & Red wire! So what I ended up doing was to splice the wire I cut back together, & guess what low & behold my car finally started! Even in dispite of everything I went through, it still was an easy install! I’m very satisfied with my purchase!

Installed with RF kit RM411. Very happy! I had to splice 4 connections on ignition switch. Use proper stripping tool that pulls and separates rather than cutting.
