Good trimmer, BUT….
It works well, looks almost new, came assembled, with battery and self-feeding spool. However, this is not an LST140c as advertised, it is the 140. It does not come with a guard and does not have variable speeds - it’s permanently on high. I thought the guard was missing and was going to use the one on my broken trimmer, but there’s nowhere to attach it. Warning: since it has no guard, you need to wear long pants and BOOTS. If you inadvertently get too close to your foot, OUCH! Also, at the strength it operates, batteries do not last as long - I went through three batteries to do what my LST140c would have handled with a little more than one at the proper speed. I thought of returning, but the price was right, it’s lighter than the 140c, and it works for my purposes, so will keep.

Lightweight, Effective, Easy to Use.
I am not overly adept with weed eaters. This one was easy to put together (mostly assembled when received) and the battery is the power I need for all my tall grasses and weeds. I was surprised at how long it lasts. The weed eater is easy to use and comfortable to hold with the lower handle helping to compensate for the weight ... which isn't really heavy. I didn't want to mess with gas and I know they are a lot heavier. I am very happy with this purchase.

Lightweight and powerful.
The trimmer is comfortable to maneuver. Its not too heavy for a woman to use. The self feed string is a nice feature and the spool changes easily. Plenty of power too.

No regrets here
Awesome power and excellent performance considering it's a single string trimmer. Have always liked and have had good experience with Black and Decker's auto string advance... am surprised by some reviewers who complain about high string consumption since in the 10 years I've been using this type of trimmer I have NEVER experienced that problem. My last B&D trimmer had 12V Ni-Cad batteries which always took two of them to make one round of the property while this one can do that at least twice on just one battery. Color me happy!

My late husband always got the big powerful tools powered by gas engines, but I can't handle them. This battery model allows me to do the "manicure" I always wanted around the house. I'm getting a blower sweeper that will use the same battery. I still have to pay someone to work the big rough acreage, but finally feel in control of the immediate house proper.

I have my own of this model and bought another for family friends because it's so easy to use. Very mobile and versatile. Great value and the only downside is that price of the batteries. Need 2 to complete our yard but it is a big yard. Highly recommend over messing around with gas or corded units.

Very happy with our first outing
I used it first on some pretty tough weeds and it knocked them out surprisingly well. I went about 25 minutes and the the battery was down to one bar. I read not to deplete it completely and that was long enough for me--my battery was down too! I don't have lots of places to use this so I'm thinking it's going to last me well. And it is lightweight enough for this old lady.

black&decker LST140c / 1.5amh battery string trimmer works well
the unit works well, its light wght. and gets the job done. The1.5 amh battery only lasts about 20 min. , then takes 4 hrs or more to charge. the batteries aren't expensive at all tho compared to other related product batteries.
