Better Than Original Part
The original part had a thin section of plastic and thats why it broke. This replacement part looks to be about a hundred times better built. Heavy duty. I don’t foresee this part ever breaking again. Should have been made this way by the original manufacturer in the first place. Really fast shipment. Arrived two days earlier than expected. Should Have Been Made Like This the First Time!
Excellent reproduced upgrade of the original OEM Actuator Gear. To me, it seems as if Chrysler intentionally weakened the fabrication of this part just to force you to buy another after a few years. The replacement, as seen on the left of my first photo, fills in that obvious break point with dense vehicle grade plastic. So there's far fewer structural integrity issues. The motor that this item mounts on puts out some force. I'm impressed the original lasted as long as it did. I'll add that this is a very, very easy repair on a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. Taking it to a local repair shop thinking it was something more severe left me only frustrated and potentially ripped off. I was told that the whole dash would have to be removed, minimum 9 hours, etc. A novice DIY'er like myself, got this installed in about an hour (10 minutes for someone that knows what they're doing--as I do now... haha). In either case, don't get swindled on this vehicle repair.

Beetter than the original pos.
The idiots that made this flimsy part in the first place need to have their brains examined. I could not believe that when I located the problem, it was this part. What is wrong with people these days? The part that I replaced it with was 100% better made than the oem part and that just is not right. I was quoted with a $750 bill from a reputable mechanic so I decided to look myself. Thank GOD I did. Jeep engineers are retarded. Period.
