I like the way this looks over standard track. The roadbed is attractive. I only use this at Christmas time, but my layout is 5x12. I also like that when these are connected together they stay together until you take them apart. the only downside is, it is not cheap. it could get very expensive fast if you where doing a detailed permanent layout. but if you could afford it this is the way to go. "my personal opinion" but all in. its a very good product and I gave it 5 stars.
