A (albeit, slightly) improved version of the original Dreamcast version, with a new feature that syncs with the GameBoy Advance, if you still own one. Most people nowadays no longer own a Sega Dreamcast (myself included) and still would like to own this now classic game, and since many folks still own a Nintendo Wii (which is backwards compatible with Gamecube games) it only makes sense to own the Directors Cut edition. I do wish the game developers would’ve addressed a few issues with the camera angles and glitches that interfere with gameplay at times, but overall is still an improvement from the original. The graphics are improved, but only by a small margin. Still worth the money. Great game that is a must own for any real STH fan.

I would have to say out of all the 3D Sonic games I've played, this has to be hit. The game is amazingly great, as I got it for a great price. Sega was right in porting the game over from the Sega Dreamcast over to the more supported Nintendo GameCube. Because of this, the graphics were made even better, making gameplay even better. This is a recommended game for all. However, I did find the dialouge or voices in the game a little too "childish" for my taste. I ended up quickly going to the Game Settings screen to disable the voices for the game. It was also interesting being able to hear it in Japanese. :) Yes, the game is geared for "Everybody" according to the ESRB, but they could have either taken the dialouge all together, or put more feeling into telling the story. Nevertheless, I encourage any Sonic fan to try this game out. I thought only the Sega Genesis games were the best, but this game proved me wrong. .:[+r0y]:.Read full review
I bought this for my son,he is six. He really likes it!We love Sonic. It was a little Hard for him at first, but he was able to get through some levels. My son is still learning to read so I have to read alot of it to him, which is why I only rated it Good. Probably excellent for a seven or Eight year old. Story line ad instructions easy to follow.Mild Violence, less than any child probably sees on Cartoon Network. I do recommend game cube games for younger children, skill level and difficulty seems lower than more complicated PS3. Controller is easy to handle. Love that it's Wii Compatable!
This remake of Sonic Adventure for the Nintendo GameCube is by all means a fantastic game. It may be a bit on the older side now, but it has aged very well, in my opinion. The graphics, while not as advanced as we have now, were very good for their time, but that doesn't mean they are bad. The gameplay plays generally the same way as any 3D Sonic game today, so it will be easy to pick up and play if you have experienced those. The controls are easy to learn, so that aspect shouldn't be a problem. With six different characters to play as, you will get hours of fun from this game. And that's not to mention the "Trial" mode, "Mission" mode, and all the others. Overall, while it may be about 13 years old, it is a definitely a great buy for anyone with a GameCube or a Wii (the Wii can play GameCube games). It still provides the same fast-paced action of any other Sonic game. If you like Sonic, or want to try out a Sonic game if you haven't already, this is a great game to get. Read full review

Although an older title, Sonic Adventure DX is an excellent remake for its time and has aged well. The gameplay is more adventure based than expected but still retains the nostalgic super-speed-run levels to accompany them. In addition, one gets to play as 6 different characters each with their individual abilities. The levels are huge and highly detailed, and the adventure fields are fun and easier to navigate than they seem. Overall, the game is worth playing and recommended for anyone who likes Sonic, GameCube or super speed action games
