Ive started trying to set some videogame world records, so i needed a camera to video my performances. Since the camera was just going to be parked on a tripod in front of my tv, I didn't need anything fancy i thought, so i chose a vivitar. My seller was great. The package arrived exactly when they said it would, it just wasn't exactly what i was expecting. It was smaller than i thought it would be, which carried over into every aspect of its functionality. The display was so small, that you couldn't really tell if the image would be exactly what you needed or not. The batteries are triple a, so youre probably not going to get a complete hour of continuous use. Theres no reason, they couldn't have used a cel phone battery instead, and given you a little more run time. The menus are clunky, the directions are hit and miss...its just an all around bad camera. As i stated in the beginning of this review, i only planned on putting it in front of my tv to record video game performances, I wasn't looking to shoot a cinematic masterpiece, so when a camera falls below even my low expectations, that should give you an idea just how truly terrible it is. The tripod and all of the other accessories are great. Ive been able to get way more use out of them. Camera gets two stars instead of one, cause it does actually function. it might be good for a very young kid, if you wanted to get them interested in video, to shoot something very short, but for anything that an adult might want a camera for, youd be better off getting something else.Read full review

For the low price it is not professional grade, but it worked perfect for our winter vacation. The zoom function gets a bit grainy but for the price I can't complain. My wife was a novice video-geographer, but quickly learned to take great shots with minimum effort. But she is a bit sharper than most folks, so that helped. Cool winter shots from the Durango Colorado winter train!

It works well but the battery life leaves a bit to be desired. The size is very accomodating to the activities we engage in. We ride trail horses and can hold this camera while riding with no troubles.
It is made so cheap it's lightweight alright there is no thing to it. I had to return it. Vivitar used to be a good name . Not in this case. Don't waste your money:(:(

as other Revisers have said this is good for out side only or inside if it has a lot of light. The pictures are not the clearest i have ever seen but you get what you pay for, so I was not expecting much for the price. it does what I want it to do witch is films my walks and hunts in the woods and teach tracking. So all being said I can say I am satisfied for the price. it will work good for filming my survival YouTube page. until I can afford a better camera. cheers.
