Mega Man & Bass is a Game Boy Advance remake of a Super Famicon (Japanese Super Nintendo equivalent) game called Rockman & Forte that was only released in Japan. Due to being on the GBA, the game has lower resolution and sound quality. Despite this, it sticks faithfully to it's original game. While it does not add anything to the game, it still is a well-made port of a fun game. Mega Man & Bass is a challenging game, however, and has some of the most irritating boss battles in Mega Man history. The lower resolution does not distort the beautiful graphics in any way, but does give you a smaller screen to work with. As a result, there are sometimes platforms under you that the GBA screen will not show, and enemies may not appear to the player but will still be counted as being on the screen to the game. However, this is minimal and does not impact the game too much. The sound quality drop seems only to affect the game's music as the sound effects still sound as nice as they did in the original. Despite the music quality drop, it still manages to retain the strength of the original soundtrack and is one of my more "loved" Mega Man soundtracks. It does give you two playable characters to choose from and a large amount of replay value in the form of a CD Database, which contains images and information about a ton of characters from the classic Mega Man series. Both playable characters are also balanced somewhat well; Mega Man has a tougher time getting through the game's stages due to his horizontal-only Mega Buster and a single jump, but can charge his buster for stronger damage, is much better at fighting bosses, and his slide allows him to reach areas in stages that Bass cannot get to; Bass, on the other hand, has little to fear in the game's stages as his double jump, his speedy dash and ability to rapid fire his buster in several directions (including straight up) makes travel easy as cake. Bosses are absurdly tough for Bass, though, as his buster only lets him deal one point of damage at a time. Getting all the CDs for the database requires a large amount of level scouring and takes a while, but does not distract from the main game, as it is completely optional. In the end, it's an enjoyable adventure that only suffers from having a difficulty level that will scare away casual players. A must-play for hardcore Mega Man fans.Read full review
Mega Man & Bass is a GBA title that goes back to the old school style of Mega Man, specifically side scrolling levels and fighting through a series of robot masters. While sub par compared to the original Mega Man titles, this game is a fun addition to a collection. It is also nice to play as two different characters - Mega Man and Bass - who have different shooting/playing styles as well as different reactions to plot elements. The graphics are pretty nice too, reminiscent of Mega Man 8 on the Playstation One. Pretty good for a hand held game. Overall I give this a 8/10 score. A must have for Mega Man lovers and anyone who likes a good side scrolling platformer.
One of the harder games in the Mega Man series. Only 2 complaints is the aspect ratio of 3:2 cuts off the top portion of maps, it's really only a factor when fighting one of the last bosses with a very high hit box. The other is the game has two modes, Bass and Mega Man, Mega Man's playthrough feels almost like an afterthought, Mega Man lacks things like double jump and makes the gameplay really challenging. Great game besides those two factors.

I have liked mega man since I was a kid, and this game sticks to its roots very well. If it wasnt for the horrible controls scheme and layout of the DS, it would be perfect. I personally liked it better on the SNES. I decided to buy it to relive childhood moments with friends, and reminisce. Another thing I did not like, was that it was rather difficult, even for a rather experienced player -at 17 years og age- I had trouble beating the bosses. Overall, buy the game, even if just for the challenge
Product came in great condition, love playing the game. The product even arrived earlier than expected
